Romo x Brees hybrid

But with montanas poise 😎

Sucks Latu got injured but Hopefully Braden Willis (and the rest of the TE squad) will be up to the task of blocking the Pittsburg DE's and LB's comming after Purdy. Brock looks good operating the Two TE set that breifly made it's appearance in the Charger's game. I get the feeling Kyle has PSTD seeing Brock injured last year and this season is going to be run heavy until the playoffs. If so, NY85 is going to be right that Brock's stats might regress a bit because it'll be much more ground oriented, we shall see.

It might actually help us keep Latu, because I don't see us keeping 4 TEs on the active roster. Kyle trust woerner & Dwelley because of their blocking and special teams ability. Maybe we keep willis and try to incorporate him. He's a good blocker too with some athleticism in the pass game.

Agree 💯%, Latu is another raw player like Trey Lance. I agree about redshirting him this year and hopefully next year he'll be much more polished. I hope we got another diamond in the rough with Willis, Purdy really likes to throw to his TE's, so that aspect of Purdy's game will take a hit if they can't get enough recieving TE's healthy for Purdy to throw to this season.

An entire year for him to practice and develop his body, understand the playbook, should do him really well. He's Uber talented but just super raw.

i like willis too. He's much more experienced, so I can see him making a slight impact. You're right, we need to have a healthy stable of guys for the pass game at TE. I've always sorta liked woerner but he's underwhelmed in the pass game, dwelley has flashes but needs to more be schemed open than get himself open, ya know?

The TE is kind of another positionless player. He blocks like an OLineman, catches passes like a reciever, and can run the ball on occasion, and depending on his alignment can also be a blocking fullback. Juszczyk is an exampe of that kind of scheme where he is everywhere. Add in Deebo, CMC, Aiyuk, Kittle and you have a big headache for defenses. You play nickel, they'll go 22 and run on you. You play base run, and they go 12 personnel and pass over you. The two TE set, I think, takes advantage of Purdy's short passing game and protects him from big hits because the defense can't tee off on Purdy - because it's such a strong run formation.

So we want Latu to get better by not playing? Worked great for Trey.

Can't practice or get reps if you are injured.

Worked out well for Banks.

I'd argue it's easier to get better at other positions than QB, without live reps. Although live reps are the best. I think positions like TE, in this offense, struggle initially cause they're trying to understand all their responsibilities and how to block properly. Kyle has said that he asks more of his TEs than any other position. So the rooks heads must be spinning.

factor in them developing their body more, coupled with a much better understanding of their responsibilities and technique - you get a much improved TE without getting live reps.

but yes, live reps help a lot. I just think they're most critical for QBs than skill positions because you don't need to understand a whole defense - just what's infront if you and how to block it or/and get open.

So many morons saying Brock has a ceiling. Lmao how do they know? Why don't they let the season play out and let's find out what Brock can do. Right?

it's the same guys who were claiming that we don't know what Lance is cause he only played a couple of games, too small of a sample size. So, doesn't the same thing go for Brock? You can't say he has a ceiling when he's only played 7 games. lol so much hypocrisy that it's comical.

we only really know one thing about Lance, he has a very low floor. No one really knows if he has a high ceiling.

we only really know one thing about Brock, he has only played at a really high level. Top 5 qb stats in numerous catagories, rookie records and NFL records.

so why don't we just let the season play out and see if he can live up to expectations, or exceed them. Lol

Brocks rookie year was as good, if not better, than Jimmys best play here. I'm a Jimmy fan, still rootin for the guy, but I think Brock is capable of being better.

I like his confidence and aggressiveness with how he plays, and his overall football awareness and IQ. I think we are in for a treat. He will most likely have some games that aren't so great but I feel like we will always be in a situation to win the game.

Still can't believe we got a top 15 qb and he was the cheapest pick in the draft

+1

I see a 4000 yard season, and maybe the top season in club history in yards

Did Joe montana have a ceiling? Brady? Mahommes? Manning? Bree's? Etc. To me, it's either you're elite or you're not. If you're not, there are limitations to your game.

if you can hit all the throws, good pocket presence, calm demeanor, good leadership, etc - there really isn't anything you can't do, so how do you have a ceiling?

i feel like it's QBs where there are things they just can't do, where they have limitations.

so far, there isn't any aspect of playing QB that Brock has shown he can't do. Now he just needs to do it consistently and efficiently.
