I also don't think the defense has a screen coverage either. You just have defenders who recognize the screen earlier and disrupt the play.

I agree with you on both counts. I dont think either of these exists. A broken screen play is a quick throwaway at the receivers feet or a sack/qb scramble (worse outcome in most cases) for the QB. Since linemen are running downfield and they are looking to block in front rather in the back many of them don't have capacity to evaluate if the screen play is blown up and stop on a dime.
