Lol. I just cannot believe people buy this.

Oh well, meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Kyle and John both said it and Trey has not denied it. What evidence do you have that that is not the case?

Kyle's words all but confirmed they wanted to move him. Beyond that it's an accumulation of the team's moves I've been discussing for months now.

If you think we traded a guy we didn't want to move to a chief conference playoff rival *for a 4th round pick*, and are eating 60 percent of his money over two years, because he asked… you're not thinking clearly. We wanted to move him. Not a single doubt.

His words were literally, "We would rather you were here." (paraphrasing)

EDIT: He was traded because he asked, he was traded to Dallas because they offered the highest comp. So you must now argue that both Kyle and John are lying and Trey is being complicit in the conspiracy by not denying it.

A friend simplified it fairly well:

'the 49ers treated their bad quarterbacks poorly. I can accept that.'

lol

Meh. As of now, Lance is a bad QB. But, I wouldn't call Jimmy one too.

I mean Dallas is a dominant defense. They are way better than their raw stats suggest. I'd call them the third best defense last year, and the top 3 are very close to each other. That Brock—a rookie—didn't make any game costing errors says a lot. Jimmy G single-handedly tried to steal defeat from the jaws of victory from them a couple years ago and they weren't as good on defense as they were last year. I was, if anything, encouraged by his performance against them.

Yep.

Amen. It was a hell of a performance. Not sexy, but gritty and demanding. I loved it.

Id argue that Dallas had a better pass rush than us last year too. They were bringing serious heat on Brock, 45.8% of the snaps he was under pressure and didn't make mistakes. Meanwhile when he had a clean pocket, he was 15-17, if anyone watched that game and thought he played poorly - just doesn't understand football on a granular level.

They don't tell the truth or full truth in public. It's messaging crafted to their benefit, and again I listened to everything Kyle said. It was clear they wanted to move him and prepped all offseason for the opportunity to do so.

Look at the fan reaction my guy. It's convenient that 49ers fans will potentially shift any blame for a trade on Trey, and why would Trey say anything differently? It's face saving as much as possible all the way around.

The evidence is right in front of your face. What leverage does Trey have to force the team to trade him for next to nothing to a rival, and eat a s**t ton of money in the process? They shipped him out to the best offer they could get. Trey's arguably in a worse situation now.

No doubt, he was being sarcastic. The real point is QB's we want to be done with and move on from.

Jimmy was probably 9-11th best QB in the league most Sundays. That's hard to find. It's not great but seeing how there is a massive drop off in quality past like the 14 top QBs… Jimmy wasn't bad at all. Jimmy didn't deserve to go through what he did, but it happened, and he handled it with as much class as anyone can ask. (I get why the team wanted to move on, it's just crappy to replace a guy so aggressively and then tell him he's staying and will play another year while they groom his replacement).

Lance is bad right now. We will see what the future holds. I'm not holding my breathe. Lance lost out on QB2 and wanted a "fresh start" immediately.

jimmy will always be better and classier than Lance, IMO. He was in a tough spot and still played well and kept
the team competitive. I have a ton of respect for Jimmy. I think Trey is a good guy and all that but not someone I really want on my team from a capability level, nor when we face adversity.

hahaha he's not wrong. This has been a very strange situation qb wise. Like I said before, jimmys probably like - really? This is what you dumped me for? And you couldn't even dump me!? I left the same off season the guy you tried to replace me with left??

sucks cause I don't think Jimmy has much love for this organization but a lot of fans have love for him. I'm more disappointed in how they handled him than Trey. At least Jimmy was a good qb and did a lot for us. Trey did absolutely nothing and burned a good guy for us.

let's hope Brock stabilizes this place man.

Nothing Jimmy said was wrong. It has been a weird situation for a few years now. Hopefully, that's all behind us now and Brock turns into that dude, that eliminates all QB distractions.

It all makes sense after papa was talking about all the interceptions Trey was throwing on the practice squad as QB2. Trey was absolutely non-functional and the worst QB on the roster.

So with a superbowl contender, they bench Jimmy G....try to get rid of him, only to end up getting him back...very weird ....to hand the team over to Trey so he can get that "development time" that everyone says they never gave him...meanwhile he is the worst QB on the team.

Yeah I get Jimmy G's point of view on this and appreciate him not throwing people under the bus and leaving things unsaid.

It also makes sense in how and why Sam beat out Trey Lance. They did not start 0 and 0 in a competition for qb2, you can't un-remember what Trey has been doing for the last 2 years.

It really does sour me on Trey lance, he knows he was stinking up the joint, so he starts leaking stuff to the press and demanding trades? That does not sound like the "high character" guy that he has been sold as.
Great post and I agree 💯

the only way Kyle's getting fired is if he has multiple losing seasons.

Kyle has four playoff wins in the past two years alone. dude wins games. that's all that matters. his seat is cold as f**k.

This. He's not getting fired anytime soon. So don't hold your breath.
