back in the day I was off the Alex wagon in 07, back on again in 11, back off again in 12, it was a bumpy ride lol

Lol I've liked all of them personally outside of guys like Hoyer, Sudfield, and career bust but white Sam Darnold .

Lmao what's wrong with Slingin sammy being white?!

Kyle's a racist remember?

Ahhh that's why he named his son after his favorite rapper! (lil Wayne). Lol

Not the only one. Apparently CMC, Kittle, Juice and Bosa are as well
4 out 5 drives went scoreless with a grand total of 65 yards avd three 3 and outs and Darnold had a good game... Dude throws a ball across his body on a bootleg right into a defender and not a word.

It's called double standards. A guy, a career bust with 55+ starts gets every excuse and actually gets praised for 4 out of 5 scoreless drives and 3 three and outs but we completely demoralize a guy with 4 starts. It's head scratching.

I stand by my comment but this thread is not the place.

So.. I take it that you aren't going with "DarnoldDeyEeyDey"?

Nope. He's already proven he's a bust that played worse than Trey for years. I don't admire that like some hypocritically do here. 55 games is not enough to judge a QB but 4 games is plenty...

Idk if anyone admires him. Maybe a couple people, but the majority seem to just like him as a quality backup, which he is. The goal was to have the best backup qb we can get.

i said it before - Alex smith had almost the same amount of turnovers in his first five years (he had one less than what darnold has in his first five years). Then harbaugh came and Alex smith became a completely different play who rarely turned over the ball. I'm expecting the same thing from darnold. I'm not looking for him to be a stud and I really don't want to see him on the field. I Just think he could be serviceable for a few games if we need him.

the fact we sent Trey to the cowboys tells you that the team doesn't think Trey has upside and isn't very good. We wouldn't send him to a conference rival, while we are both competing for a super bowl, if they believe he was capable of becoming a good player.

you feel how you feel, no biggie, I just don't think anyone is a big fan of darnold. Lol I'd rather have Brock than darnold, Lance, and dak.

im really happy with who our starter is and I think he has more upside than all those guys.

4 games might be plenty if Kyle watched Lance in practice every day and saw that the light just wasn't coming on. Keeping Darnold doesn't mean that the 49ers are making a long term commitment to him either but trading Lance to a playoff rival speaks volumes as to how Kyle feels about Lance's ability to progess as a passer.

If they truly believed that Lance could improve significantly, they wouldn't have traded him in the first place but they especially wouldn't have traded him within the conference.

Lol I distinctly remember a poster who shall remain nameless saying that, dead seriously, when they though it was going to be Jones over Lance/Fields

I think there's more to the story but time will tell. Trey needs time, he's still raw while Darnold has 55 games. Mostly terrible games but it's experience. I get the move but I also think Trey has a bigger upside that Sam. Remember how terrible Darnold was for 3 years? He was terrible. He even got massive playing time and still was bad.

My point is the double standards though. I am not pushing this to troll or demean anyone but I've pointed out Sam's less than stellar preseason. Even in his thread o highlighted some plays where he missed open guys, two of which where sacks. Nobody said a word. Trey his first game has similar sacks and it was chaos for the week. Trey throws a near pick that results in a TD and again it's all week. Sam throws a ball right into a defender on a extremely stupid play and he gets a pass.

I truly don't understand why a proven bust gets so much respect but Trey got trashed for his every move. A guy who's busted factually and we have 55 games to show will suddenly improve but a guy with 4 games won't? It makes absolutely no sense.

Kawakami just said on knbr that no veteran golden state warriors wanted to play with james wiseman and the niner vets love playing for brock purdy which went into kyle's decision, pretty cool

What if it's clear from what they've seen that he'll never reach the level they had hoped he'd attain? If you believe he just doesn't have it and never will, should you keep pressing the issue or cut your losses?

Just because he's raw doesn't mean that he'll ever progress beyond that. This trade is saying that Kyle and Lynch don't believe he'll ever be worth anything in the NFL. Sometimes you just misevaluate a player. It happens.

Exactly right.

When you get outplayed by a 7th round rookie who has literally no nfl experience, its a wake up call
