The NFL has grown up so much from the 80s, every defense has darn near seen everything by this point. I think we are past the days of lets draw something up we have never done before in the dirt. It is the price we pay for the high end product we see week in and week out in the NFL.

I was going to post something the other day about Trey and Shanny and how little franchises can actually work with player in todays NFL. Teams only get a few weeks during the offseason to work with players, and they only get 4 hours a day and only 2 of those hours can be at team/coach direction. So you are lucky if you get 1 hour coach directed film study and one hour of hands on coaching per day. Once you hit the end of TC and preseason you only get 24 hours in a 3 day period. That is what the collective bargaining agreement has brought to "mentoring" young players.

Back in Montana/Walsh days....Joe could be in the building 12 hours a day if he wanted to be, nothing could kept Walsh from working 60 hours a week with Joe in the offseason if that was needed.

The story of Montana crashing on the couch in Bill Walsh's office before the rest of the team arrived for the first day of Training Camp could not happen in todays NFL with out the 49ers loosing draft picks as a punishment.

That is part of the magic of college football.....so many historic long standing stadiums.

I don't give a darn about Chicago, but I do give a damn about soldier field. I really hoped they would go with the add on plan vs the demolish and build new plan. Alas economics.....cities eat a ton of cost, so it is in the teams best interest to build new stuff.

When my high-school re-did the basketball court, I actually bought the old floor, my hallway, dinning room and bedroom are actually the court I use to play on, tons of memories. I am nostalgic like that. True story, my ex-gf and first girl I probably detested, we use to hold hands during pep-rallys....I use that part of the court for my bathroom. So...I guess I am petty like that as well.
For anyone worried about Brock's size.. obviously we have many examples of *shorter* QBs being successful.

But Brock, at 6'1", is only one inch shorter than Steve Young (and even Steve says his listed 6'2" height is alittle eeeh)

But more importantly, as some know, Brock is 220 pounds... now I remember Steve Young being around 230lbs when he was with us, but wiki lists him at 215lbs.

I'm guessing that listed weight was Steve coming out of college? Anyone else remember Steve being more than 220lbs?

Eitherway Brock is good there. Anyway reason I brought that up is I have some co-workers worried about him being too small. I'm some here have also heard it from others.

The difference is that Steve Young had a much stronger arm and was a lot more mobile.

That stadium was a f**king dump, it held great memories because of the dynasty teams, but other than that the place sucked

Yea I don't understand this. You'd think the majority of the players would want to pass agreements in the CBA to be able to to spend more time together if they want. Not mandatory but not be penalized if that's what they want to do.

I have that photo framed and signed by Joe.
I think my favorite candlestick memory, mind you I never went to playoff games because I was always too nervous lol, was Deion's 2nd game (maybe 1st?)with them against NO and Saints were still kind of hanging around and he picks Everett with about 3 min left at the like the 35 and returns it 65 for the TD. It was f**king bedlam and Jerry was running onto the field right next (at least how I remember it) to him as he was running it back 🤣
