lol, Steve Young with the canon. Dude, he was my favorite player growing up, but his arm was pretty average. As is Brock's. The point is whether you can make all the throws on the field and both Young and Brock can. Furthermore, Brock is plenty athletic and has a pocket mobility that was borderline elite at times (see the dropped TD to Ayiuk in playoffs). Young could scramble, for sure, but let's not act like Brock is just some pedestrian with a noodle arm back there who only throws dump offs.

Your hard on for Darnold's arm is boring and renders any rational discussion meaningless since you have a proclivity to putting down the guy who has earned the spot ahead of him on the depth chart. So much goes into what makes a great QB. I hope Darnold has that stuff, but I'd much rather Purdy just continue doing what he's did last year and be a top five QB on a rookie salary then next few years.

What are you talking about? Steve Young had a MUCH stronger arm than Brock Purdy. He could make throws all over the field. He could hit Rice and Owens outside the numbers and deep. He could throw balls with velocity.

Brock had a total of 10 yards rushing last year and you want to compare him to one of the greatest QB rushers in NFL history? I have no words.

I wasn't the one who brought up Young, just pointing out that Brock is no slouch in the athletic department since the comparison of their bodies was made.

I wonder if you even watched him play last year? You claim Brock can't make all the throws, but if you watched him play, he in fact made every throw a QB needs to make. He showed incredible elusiveness and pocket presence. You have the audacity to claim 95% of Brock's passes were dump offs and screens, but that flies in the face of observable reality. Which leads me to believe you have an agenda or just don't have a good memory.

The tape doesn't lie.

Brock Purdy Top Plays of the 2022 Season=KDt5TrAeIhAKcLr2

I'm Purdy excited this upcoming season!!!
i was thinking about that last night that Brocky should be makinig bank right now but he is on the cheap instead for a few years, then i forgot about the endorsement deals that he will rake in and probably make 10s of millions from it until his next contract which will be huge

Win win for him! Plus, if not for the niners, no one would have drafted him and probably would never be given a chance to see the field in a real NFL game.
T minus 8 days until game day! When Brock Purdy lights the Steelers d on fire! Mushahahah

Folks are so on edge ready to be defensive or offensive that s**t gets started when nothing really didn't even happen.

All I said was Brock was an inch shorter than Steve, and supposedly weighs more than him as well. So folks who worry about his size shouldn't worry too much.

nothing about arm strength lol.

Anyway, the dude is awesome and I think his arm is good enough. Reminds me a lot of Drew Brees in terms of stature and arm strength. Brees never had a howitzer for an arm but managed to deliver the ball on time and accurately. Look at some of his highlights you'll even see some underthrown deep passes that were caught because he got the ball out early enough to let his receivers make a play on it.

Agree 💯% about the Drew Brees comparison. I've always felt that Brees never got to multiple Superbowls because of defense and lack of a ground game. Give that to Purdy and I think multiple Superbowls are definitely possible. That starts with signing Bosa and keeping CMC healthy.

Personally i want our offense to road grade BlitzBurg, I love seeing Kyles ground game dominating opponents like Green Bay.

Dude wins SB MVP and he's set for life and doesn't even have to wait until he has to be resigned to make serious money

Lol 70% of Brock's weight is in his thighs. Thunder thighs! They're like little tree trunks. Hahahah

Does Steve Young have 10 yard split on record?
Steve was fast and he can juke like a RB. And most importantly, he didn't blow a freaking knee trynna do it. Unlike the previous QB we had

For all his running, it never occurred to me watching Young that he could blow a knee. He was a natural. I get the same sense with Brock.
