Arm Strength is one of the most over-rated things in a QB. Jim DruckenMiller had incredible "arm strength".

Again, beside my point. A few in here and one covering the team who are still upset about Trey and choosing to be sneaky about insulting Purdy. It's pathetic.

Thankfully there aren't very many of those people. It would be nice to have basically our entire fanbase united behind 1 quarterback for the first time in decades.

It would also be nice to if we can critique our qbs without being labeled a Cohn Supporter lol...everyone so funny

Making fun of a comment about "the deep ball" is not "critiquing." It's BS that Cohn does.

Don't project your disdain over Cohn onto me. Cohn has plenty of absurd takes that I laugh at and think he is an idiot about. Watched all the post game shows and Cohn had the gall to say Purdy was throwing DUCKS today. DUCKS. Lmao that was an insanely stupid take. Not once today did I think about Brock's velocity on his throws they were just fine. He doesn't have a huge arm but it's not weak either and Joe never had a huge arm either and could still easily throw the deep post and go routes and he was (still is to me) the GOAT.

We already know Brock can throw a 40 yard deep ball over the top since he did it to Kittle/RayRay last year. And I'm not going to throw shade on a guy that is not only capable of doing that but is a QB with a disposition to look for the donwfield routes first and look short second. I'd like to think that the minute a team does cover 1 and leaves a guy on an island one on one running a go route or deep post he is going to attempt that throw. This isn't Jimmy we are talking about here. Thank God.

Cohn gave Purdy a B+ for his game yesterday. Lol. Doubling down on stupid.

An, A- at least, Cohn is moron.

How many Super Bowl teams have won the Super Bowl with a weaker arm QB? I think teams will eventually catch on to our offense if there is no vertical threat. It seemed like Pittsburgh figured out our passing offense in the second half.

I always take Brees as an example. Not the strongest, but dude put up buka yards for like years. It's about timing and accuracy. If you can't compute that then you don't s**t about how Joe won 4 SB's.

Joe also threw over the top bomb deep post tds to Rice and Taylor on the regular to go along with the patented YAC slants. Thats what I also want to see more regularly assuming Aiyuk beats his guy on a deep post.

A couple scary moments esp. when the ball was stripped and knocked out and then he had to pin the ball against his body with his right arm with Watt pulling at it. Not good.

But overall, superior efficient. Very typical 49er QB stat line: 19/29 for 220. Not much past 10 yards. 188 yards rushing. Classic Shanahan game plan.

Yup, that rushing is always a big key to Kyle's offense. McKivitz did an ok job, I hope he does better against LA. LA did a good job against Seattle. I was surprised about that. Purdy just keeps amazing me. Definitely looks like a generational talent. He had some historic stats broken this last Sunday.

This is what I would like to see as well. We have too many good players to settle for short receptions most of the time. If we can beat teams deep, that opens more areas everywhere.

I think the fumble is more on Purdy than McKivitz because he didn't step into the pocket. He was a sitting duck and we saw Shanahan was scolding him afterward.

i get why scouts like arm strength but people associate arm strength with upside too much and while that is true to a certain extent I think people who show the most upside are people who read the field and coverages and go through progressions. Those are the guys who have the biggest upside

ya i agree he kind of sat at the top of the pocket he should've moved up and he would've had a pocket (if memory serves me)

His arm was plenty strong yesterday.

LOL at complaining about the game plan and play calling after scoring 30 through 3 quarters in a blowout win.

So dumb.

We are constantly like literally every year for the past 3-4 years are the top 2-3 team in yards/play

The NFL rules favor the offense. Defense really can't stop offenses now due to the rules preventing head shots and concussion hits. So the offense has more rules to help it play keep away from the other team. 49ers have a good defense, but one thing that helps the defense is an offense that just ball hogs the ball and the other team can't score. I"m betting if the 49ers scored so quick (with a more vertical offense) and gave it back to the defense, that defensive ranking would drop probably five places.
