QB Brock Purdy Thread

This is where the pundits are wrong. You can have a meathead who can throw 75 yards. 3 int's and 1 fumbled snap. 4 turnovers. Anybody watch MNF?

Or have elite processing ability before and after the snap, make excellent decisions, get the ball out quick, excellent mechanics, throw accurate catchable passes. Don't make the big mistakes.

So which would you rather have? Somebody tell Cohn and these other idiots.

Everything he said seemed pretty accurate. Brock somewhere between 10-15th, but I can accept a small sample size for skepticism. And maybe bump one number up with Rodgers going down.

How many QBs would you trade straight up for Purdy right now and who are they?

* Understand there will be some homerism here, myself included
* Assume you can get each QB on Purdy's current contract to take salary cap implications out of it - purely a performance assessment, now and projecting into the future.

I am struggling to come up with more than 8. This might be the whole list (not in order):

Mahomes
Burrow
Hurts
Lawrence
Allen
Jackson
Herbert

and even a couple of those I kind of have to think about based on scheme fit…..

Dak? Stafford? Rodgers? Cousins? Tua? Hard pass

It's wild that parsons has a better take than most 49ers fans Lmao

Not wild. He's a professional football player. I don't know anything.

That said they are slightly different takes (QB ranking vs who would you trade him for). But go ahead and share your list of QBs you would trade Brock for.

Are you trying to argue that Purdy>Allen?

Lmao. Love Purdy, but holy homer take buddy.

I mean maybe if he continues this level of play through the year, but even people weren't crowning Pat as a top QB with only 7-8 games under his belt.

He might not have the talent of an Allen, but I bet Purdy wins a Super Bowl before Allen.

The way he is playing now he is. I don't know how it will end up. But there is something to be said for a player who processes super well and doesn't make huge mistakes. Yeah I know Allen has elite talent. But he makes big mistakes too because of that talent he takes a lot of risks. So there is some downside there too. That's all I'm saying at this point.

Possibly. But do you think if Allen was our QB we wouldn't be hands down the SB favorite?

You Sir are correct. Not because one QB is better than the other, but one TEAM is heads and shoulders above the other.
This looks like the year.

Could probably push for 20-0.

That guy carries his offense. We would reduce his burden so much with our scheme and talent.

It's not apples to apples because Allen costs literally 50x more.
