QB Brock Purdy Thread

However, you gotta ask yourself, why the heck he's not just managing the game smartly yesterday, especially when Rodgers went down?

Question:
1:56 mins left in game, down by four right now, this year, these teams, this season, who would trust to put you in the end zone, Purdy or Allen?

let's not sell BP short, what has Allen done or won?
BP may very well be in the MVP convo this season
ESPN does season projections, based on current stats and just extrapolating

BP is at 3700 yds 34 TDs 0 INTs
just a simple projection, but if he's close to 4k yds with high TDs and the 49ers are winning a ton of games, BP is in the MVP convo, imo

This is where the pundits are wrong. You can have a meathead who can throw 75 yards. 3 int's and 1 fumbled snap. 4 turnovers. Anybody watch MNF?

Or have elite processing ability before and after the snap, make excellent decisions, get the ball out quick, excellent mechanics, throw accurate catchable passes. Don't make the big mistakes.

So which would you rather have? Somebody tell Cohn and these other idiots.

Are you trying to argue that Purdy>Allen?

Lmao. Love Purdy, but holy homer take buddy.

I mean maybe if he continues this level of play through the year, but even people weren't crowning Pat as a top QB with only 7-8 games under his belt.

Purdy is better than Allen. Allen is looking overrated, he panics and throws the ball up for grabs. He has below average decision making and processing speed. It takes much more than arm strength and being 6'5" to be a great qb. Why would you want a guy who turns it over four times? Not even Jimmy had four in one game that I can recall.

Outside of some niner fans, there is not one other person on this planet that would not take Allen. Be it fans, GMs, coaches, players, politicians, gardeners, people in retirement homes, etc...

Like jfc people

He already is a great QB too lol... he had a bad game, it happens. I guess we should've cut Joe as well when he threw 4 picks.

That's something that you gotta ask the coaching staff and his OC. He's not out there calling his plays.

you're correct as well, he thinks he's superman too much and all he had to do there was just play a normal game and they easily win. But HC should be making that decision for him..

till he played the Niners, need to see him do it against a good team but he's a lovely QB to watch.

Can he last though as his head is a marshmellow.

The Chargers are expected to make the playoffs this year. Even with the loss, ESPN still has them ranked as a top 10 team.

He did throw 300 yards against the Niners last year on 9 ypa, which is an elite stat. His only issue were the 2 turnovers. He had a 80 RTG against us which isn't that bad against our defense. His worst game last year was playing against the Chargers and he avenged that already this year.

Again, what is your motive in this thread? Do you think we should go get tua now since we broomed Lance?? I don't get it. What drum are you beating here.

Yeah this is odd. Tua is way better than we all thought he'd be, but there's no way we're trying to get him with Purdy playing so well and being so cheap.

You seem a little bit unhinged. Another poster said Tua is not a top QB. I replied with Tua's stats to say that he is indeed a top QB.

stats is not the only indicator, take away Reek and Tua is avg

Every talking head on ESPN, FS1 and their podcasts are praising Tua as a top NFL QB. These include many former all pro and pro bowl WRs, QBs and GMs. PFF ranks him higher than any QB for Week 1 by far. It's sad that we can't be objective over the fact that Tua is a top NFL QB.

You keep using stats, and you mention his 'only' prob vs SF was 2 turnovers. That wasn't the only prob tho. He had dudes wide as bleep open vs SF, and he couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. It was not typical for him, but that's what happened. It's a different game if Tua didn't leave so much on the field that day.

Maybe you should read the contexts of the posts before you accuse others of something.

He had a 9 ypa against us. I don't know if you know much about stats, but that is elite and ranks higher than any ypa any NFL QB threw last year. The completion % don't matter as much if he's throwing bombs and averaging 9 ypas.

You can dink and dunk for 80% ypas but that won't be nearly as good as even 50% completions with 9 ypas.
Added to the ignore list. Shame that even after a fantastic week 1, we have to put up with nonsense like this from PBMs.

Tua is a good QB, definitely wouldn't call him a top QB though. He can change that this year if he puts together a great season and can stay healthy.

I said Tua was a top QB on here right after he played that game and before Monday's talking heads. Many were flabbergasted including you probably.
