He was the top ypa QB last year and had one of the highest QB ratings. PFF ranks him very highly. The "eye test" which many here cling to because they mock me for my stats-minded perspective even indicates that he's a top QB. Did you see the bombs he threw on Sunday? How many 49ers QBs have done that in our history?

You think he couldn't throw bombs to Aiyuk, Deebo and Jennings? He threw to 8 different receivers. He was throwing all over the field.

lol, i guess you can't see things on your own and need to be told.
I said Tua was a top QB on here right after he played that game and before Monday's talking heads. Many were flabbergasted including you probably.

Reek never played like this with Mahomes. Tua threw to 8 different receivers. SIX receivers had receptions of at least 16 yards. Hill and Waddle had longs of 47 and 35 and had 20 yd avg completions. 5 of them had at least 40 yards of receiving and the 6th had 34. He had 466 yards of passing. These are crazy QB stats.

You keep using stats, and you mention his 'only' prob vs SF was 2 turnovers. That wasn't the only prob tho. He had dudes wide as bleep open vs SF, and he couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. It was not typical for him, but that's what happened. It's a different game if Tua didn't leave so much on the field that day.
He had a 9 ypa against us. I don't know if you know much about stats, but that is elite and ranks higher than any ypa any NFL QB threw last year. The completion % don't matter as much if he's throwing bombs and averaging 9 ypas.
You can dink and dunk for 80% ypas but that won't be nearly as good as even 50% completions with 9 ypas.
I'll take watching a dude play vs boxscores. If you lean on boxscores you come away thinking Trey Lance is Him from preseason. People watched the games and said they are done with Trey Lance, KS included. Tua didn't have a good game vs us, he was whiffing on big throws kind of a lot. A lot of those he would want to have back. We all remember this game as it was BPs first extended action.

Pat P talked about getting an interception off of 49ers tells offensively. Not sure if this was one of them but he for sure anticipated this this whole time. It was almost like he didn't want to jump it too soon so they'd throw it. He just dropped it. pic.twitter.com/sqqrtK1zJg

Interesting play. Purdy even looked him off, but Peterson had coviction in what he thought was coming.

Okay so if you watched the dude play on Sunday against a team that he played horribly against last year, you would see that he is indeed a very, very good QB. If you think the SF game is his peak and he can't improve, especially since he's not much older than Purdy and he's only played 36 games, I don't know what to say to you.

I never said anything about him, other than I disagree with your claim, you said the 2 TOs was his only issue vs SF, that's not true, at all.

That's a great pass but this is a lot more impressive and more difficult

Time to take the Miami discussion to NFL Talk where it belongs. This thread is about Brock Purdy and the 49ers. Enough with this passive negativity about the thread title.
