QB Brock Purdy Thread

Brock seems instinctive. But to process quickly he has to have good input. I suspect he has elite vision, and then the athleticism to react.

All great QB's have the ability to process quickly and find the open guy. The added bonus is that these types of QB's can perform in high stress situations. No lead is ever safe against them.

Montana had "it." So did Brady. There are others. Brock seems to have that ability.

if anyone was gonna put a play up I figured this would be the one.

If anyone was gonna struggle to separate film study vs rooting interest, it would be this one.

It was a good PBU but there was close to a zero chance of PP picking that ball off with the ball location and only getting his left hand on it.

Agreed. Calling that a dropped INT is quite the stretch.

Was just going to say the same thing - he didn't drop jack - good play though on his part of course. Kittle may have gotten it if Brock put it out more in front of him.

kittle may have been a step slower due to playing through injury

Definitely wasn't one of his better routes. But Purdy could have led him a bit more too.

that spin move he did to evade the free rusher then hit deebo for the first has me convinced that brock is a jedi

That was prime Russell Wilson-like evasion skills. I'm wondering if that pass was meant for Kittle, but Deebo intercepted it.

It looked like a scramble drill route to me. JD's philm (to me) it looks like Deebo was flowing to the sideline after he saw Brock bail from the pocket, that's a typical scramble route.

Yesterday, Brandon Aiyuk joined the list of players and observers who have said Brock Purdy has "it." "I'm not sure I can even define what 'it' is, but he has 'it,'" said the receiver.

Kyle Shanahan may have defined "it" in an interview he gave:

"Brock's pretty steady," Shanahan said. "Brock, you don't see much different each day. He's a very faith-based person. I think that gives him his foundation as much as anyone I've been around."

Purdy has made no secret of his faith and how he relies on it in everything he does. Maybe that is "it."

i wonder what his faith is, scientology?

Shanatology.

LMFAO!

I think Purdy has a short memory. Good or bad, he stays on an even keel which is an especially great trait to have when playing QB. Tebow might have been on an even keel but he threw the football like he was trying to shot put it and read defenses the way I read Dutch.

I thought it was for kittle as well initially

I am just saying when Pat was talking about I nearly had one, that's the play right?

maybe Jesus loves brock more

But no love for Brock's UCL.

I hope its a ShanaLynch wakup call to protect our Franchise QB. They did overdraft the TE position, I think, this offseason -- one major reason in my mind was Riddick and that arm hit on Brock.
Brocky is an intelligent and intuitive thinker, he sees the entire solution at once and works back toward the details, that is why he is so good off schedule he can see the openings in the coverage right before they develop.... as opposed to linear thinkers who go step by step (progressions) to find the final solution
