Can you go to number 1 in Power Ratings in one week if people don't think you have a quarterback?

Do our own fans think we have a quarterback?

how the f**k were we 10th?

it came out pre-bosa so maybe they didn't think he would sign?

You think he always looks for the big play? I agree he got the swagger

He looks for the medium play. He's turned down open short passes to hit intermediate ones many times.

He looks for what the defense gives relative to the play call. That is far more important that stupid arm strength or pointless fantasy football stats like air yards.

He is a QB with a KS mind meld

I dont know how but he executes the way KS thinks it should play out

You can see the absolute trust from a playcaller in his QB
Lord people still hung up on this strong arm thing? Jamarcus Russell had a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. It's not everything at QB.

You guys every hear of Steve Young, Joe Montana, Drew Brees? None of those had a strong arm. I don't think they are much better than Purdy. His arm is not horrible. It's pretty decent with very accurate. Plus great processing and excellent decision making. In addition to sneaky quickness in a 10 - 15 yard box area. Where he can scramble to buy more time to throw or run for a 1st down. He has absolutely everything you need to win in this league. Nothing is lacking. In fact he never lost a game yet where he didn't tear his elbow. Which is unbelievable.

Let me education you. INTENDED air yards is pretty meaningless, because it doesn't contribute much if anything at all to winning.

Bill Walsh explained why he always had a deep shot scripted into his first 15 plays for the threat not the actual yardage. The threat of going deep effects how a defense is called. Even if it fails the threat of another one exists. He did this with Joe Montana. Joe's arm is not as good as Purdy's. Walsh's primary tenet of his offense was pressure. Keep the ball moving forward and stressing every defender. A steady diet of 50 yard bombs will not do that. Yes it will stress the CB,FS and maybe the SS..but it lets the DL and LB off the hook...in fact it helps both of them.

Plus there is 3rd down pressure. You can't miss to many bombs or you loose the pressure of 3rd and short. We all know what 3rd and long does to a DL. That is just a bad spot to be in with regularity. It does not stress a defense, it helps them immensely.

It is easy to argue there is a balance to having a deep threat and still having an acceptable chance of completion.

I think Shanny 2.0 and Purdy do this well, Purdy is ready and eager to attack the back of the defense. His bread and butter so far has been chunk plays. Shanny puts defenders in a constant state of pull and tug. Come forward for a run? Come forward and it was play action? Cross the field for a screen? 30 yarder by Purdy? They do a good job of moving the defense around and not letting them back up with comfort or come down hill with comfort.

it's called draftism, ppl have a hard time buying in that a guy picked so late can have talent, happened with Brady also
turns out the draft is a very inexact science, do that same draft today and he's going ahead of T Walker, who was the first pick when BP was last

Of the top 5 QBs that were picked in the year we picked Lance, the only one I would might picked ahead of Purdy is Lawrence. Right now Purdy's NFL QB rating is 8 points higher than Lawrence. So, we can talk about all-around roster strength and all but Trevor has played in 35 NFL games to Purdy's 8.

I'll keep our guy.

I wish Purdy had more sharp words for Patrick Peterson at his postgame press conference. Patrick needed to have his own words shoved straight up his ****
It's probably been posted already many pages back but does anyone have a clip of Purdy making a fool out of the best (or second best ) safety in the game? Thanks 🙏

His subtle dig was perfect.

This is always cool.

Yup and jimmy never even entertained the deep route, Purdy does.

Classy s**t
It's absolutely insane that Brock Purdy is a "ready now" QB to lead this championship level roster

Looks like he'll be a top 10 QB this season if McKivitz doesn't get him killed.
