The only thing I worry about with Purdy is their ability to protect him. If it was me, I would go all in on upgrading the OL next offseason. Trying to build as formidable of a wall to give him the maximum time to operate as possible. It's what the Patriots did for Brady, the Saints did for Brees, the Cowboys did for Romo and the Packers did for Rodgers.

Why not go all in on the line this season? I've said it before but they have the cap space, and I wouldn't mind one bit if they traded a 1st round pick for a good OT. Doesn't have to be great, but their history with 1st round picks, coupled with the notion that it will likely be #32 tells me it would be a good trade. I want Brock to be clean and upright. So tired of losing our QB to injury.

Yep I couldn't care less about our 1st and 2nd round picks. Better to hit in the later rounds as the salary cap hit will be lower. Would LOVE to get a talented O lineman in a trade. I feel like that might be the reason they opened up a lot of cash. Maybe they are hoping something materializes.

No more trading 1sts. If need be, spend extra money on consultants and scouts to nail your OL picks during the next draft and build a long term, affordable line that will allow you to compete for years to come.

I agreed that both guys post in comments.. if We will be draft #30 to #32 then they will draft the top OL and gone on listen? So the OL will be last and not talented well? Who know?!

That is nuts, give the steelers their due....it wasn't enough...but the put up a hell of a fight on D....Purdy was just better

That Pittsburgh defense is no joke. Watt, Minka, Highsmith, Heyward, Peterson and they are very well coached.

I thought the 49ers would win due to the run game and the defense shutting down Pickett, did not at all expect Purdy to perform as well as he did against an aggressive defense.

Yep it was a good early test for him this season. Should be a little easier for him in the Rams game.

kind of an insane miracle, his throw arm blew up earlier this calendar year
incredible comeback

I want to believe.

I want to believe so badly that we found the guy.

I thought we found the guy when Alex Smith beat the Saints in the playoffs. I was wrong.

I thought we found the guy when Kaepernick dismantled the Packers in the playoffs. I was wrong.

I thought we found the guy when Jimmy beat the Jags in 2017. Turned out to be wrong.

I've just been hurt so many times. Please tell me this time is different. I can't think of any QB who successfully faked being this good for 9 straight games in his 1st/2nd season except for Nick Foles…

I feel like I have seen a similar post before lol.

Alex 🥱
Kap..he shined at UNR, probably should have just stopped there lol
Jimmy, maybe, had the 9ers not shat it away in 7 mins with time clock disaster. But doesn't really have "IT"
The only way Brock doesn't get an SB very soon is because of failures around him or injury. Protect that guy like gold.

Yep and I thought of the possibility of Trey looking great in his starts, so they couldn't take him out and replace him with Purdy.

Perhaps they do the ranking with a significant weight in arm strength. Some people are obsessed with arm strength.

The problem with drafting O linemen is how little chance they have at impacting the team immediately. Whether it takes a while to really grasp the system, or Kyle just being stubborn about playing rookies on the line, Burford is the only guy I can think of who started his rookie year.
