I forget this will be his first time meeting Aaron Donald. Hopefully he wont be like Geno Smith and yell "oh my god!" as Donald comes rushing in.

Damn... should of been #12.
If you are talking about the three first round picks, it's a wash. Brock is playing like a guy drafted at number 3 pick, first round.
Between hitting on draft picks in the high rounds vs the low rounds -- I think hitting picks on the low rounds has some benefits. Low round picks take less cap space, example Brock's salary. You'll have more consistency because most teams hover around 8/9 wins average and so if they draft well when they have a crappy record and draft poorly when they have a great record, there's no consistency. Whereas if you draft well in the lower rounds, consistently, you're not dependent on a crappy record to get good players. Ronnie Bell, for example, looks like a hit.

That's a team stat. The offense is absolutely loaded and he did a good job most of the time hitting those guys. He's a solid QB. He's not bad. He's certainly not an elite player.
People would say the same about Purdy.
That's why instead of passer rating use Total QBR. And what do you know, BOTH guys are at the top of the league. Because BOTH are really good.
Of course, Brock is NUMBER 1 in the NFL and Tua is 3.

QB rating is a team stat?
Yes it is. Because it doesn't differentiate who is the reason for the passing success or failure. It doesn't take into account INTs off of drops. It doesn't take into account WRs bailing out the QB. It doesn't take into account the QB making plays when guys around him drop the ball. It doesn't take into account the difference between a 60 yard screen and a 60 yard bomb. Etc.
Passer rating is a TEAM passing stat.

Not technically, but it is. It doesn't separate who is contributing to the play between the QB and the receivers.
Throw a bubble screen that goes for 70… looks the same as scramble and a bomb down the field that goes for 70. Lots of examples like that.
It tells you more about the passing offense as a whole.
Purdy's rating was higher than Jimmy's last year and will be again this year. If Trey Lance was starting for us his rating would be much lower, so I disagree.
A team includes the QB dude. It's a team stat. Improving the WRs improves the passer rating. So does improving the QB.

I was convinced "day f**king 1" (just quoting Karlsson from VGK speech) loooll
He's clearly the best since Shanahan got here. But I won't crown him past Jeff Garcia just yet. However, I think he will show he is there this season.

I would wait a little bit. Jeff Garcia had a great run with the Niners.
But yeah, the Niners just score ton of points with this kid.
The only team that was able to slow down that offense with Brock is the Cowboys and they have Micah Parsons.
He's only 23 years old seriously.^^ And he's coming back from a major injury!
Garcia was my favorite player growing up, my brother had a close friend who was close to Garcia. That friend passed along that I was a huge fan of his… and so I got a personal letter and signed photo from him.
So no, I'm not disregarding what Garcia meant to me and this team…. I just see something very special with Purdy.
But first he has to DO it. So far so good, but the task is not complete.

Then you're in luck, because Brock Purdy was 4th in the NFL last week in completed air yards per pass attempt. Just because a lot of bombs aren't being thrown doesn't mean the QB is not getting air yards. Taking that 15 yard first down over the wide open five yard curl like Purdy did yesterday a time or two is a good way to rack up air yards. And those "long short passes" and intermediate passes are what turns a game manager into the reason his team wins rather than the reason it doesn't lose.

Lol Brock called that TD to Aiyuk "the deep ball"
Not even close to a deep ball lol. Great catch by Aiyuk on great coverage on a good throw by Brock. I like that he had the balls to throw back shoulder on that medium range ball.
You and Grant Cohn would get along great.
It was 20 yards across the field. Call it a short deep ball. Hell, 20 is the cutoff most stat collectors use.

I mean, they could be right, but assuming all three teams have their QB at the end of the season, why would Brock be worse than last year when he beat DAL. I guess I can accept that until we beat PHI, they're top dog. But I do r understand how DAL just passed us.

How's the hairline?
This is the main reason I got over the trade in a few minutes. Our franchise QB needs to have a good hair line. That's the least we can do after having Jimmy. He was so hot they called him "the skillet" because he was so good at flipping straight men.

Maybe if by "extremely shaky" they mean he's small and therefore easily hurt and the backup is a guy with five years of bottom tier football. But if Brock is healthy at worst you can say we have a solid game manager (but we all know he also can make key plays, which makes him more than that).
