Not even close to a deep ball lol. Great catch by Aiyuk on great coverage on a good throw by Brock. I like that he had the balls to throw back shoulder on that medium range ball.

You and Grant Cohn would get along great.

You think that second TD to Aiyuk classified as a deep ball? Great play on great coverage but that was not deep. It was 19 f**king yards.

Lmao.

It was a 19 yard touchdown pass because of where the ball was spotted. But he threw it closer to 30 yards in the air. Anything over 20 is considered a deep pass. But that's beside my point.

You're in here pretending to compliment Purdy when it's clear you're trying to throw shade. Which is what Cohn does, hence why I said you'd get along.

Traveled 26 yards. Not a "deep ball" per say, but who cares - great throw and great catch

Per whose se? Lol. Advanced stats classify it as a deep pass because it traveled more than 20 yards in the air. He didn't call it a "bomb" or anything crazy. But it was a fade route and a deep pass. Ball at the 19 yard line doesn't take that away.

Again, beside my point. A few in here and one covering the team who are still upset about Trey and choosing to be sneaky about insulting Purdy. It's pathetic.

Well, it traveled more than 19 yards per Pythagoras, and unless we're taking into account the curvature of Esrth and bringing in non-Euclidean geometry, I don't think anyone here wants to question Pythagoras.

But I don't think that's what you're responding to here.

Not throwing any shade at all. You and others are oversensitive - come on we all know that was not a deep ball and we weren't at a spot on the field for that to be a deep ball. So it was humorous that he referred to a 19-yard pass as a deep ball when obv it wasn't. Nothing wrong with Brock on that play I was jumping around with my brother when Aiyuk caught that both of us saying how sick a throw that was back shoulder and giving your best receiver a chance to go get it.

Not to mention you know what people mean when they say they like the deep ball and it doesn't mean a 22 yard out or comeback or curl etc. But that's beside my point.

Brock is our only chance at winning the Super Bowl and if he goes down we are completely f**ked no different from last year in the playoffs.

He was making a joke about Peterson and referenced the 2nd touchdown, "the deep ball," to differentiate between the short one which was the in route. He wasn't trying to give himself credit for throwing it deep or whatever weird accusation you're making.

Do you know what a 10 yard out is called? A deep out. Does that mean it's a "deep pass?" No. It's to differentiate from a quick/speed out.

And sensitive, really? We have a legit franchise level QB and the best roster in the NFL. No one is sensitive. We're simply sick of having to defend our QB from our own supposed "fans" who can't get over their weird love affairs over other QB's who couldn't cut it. I was a huge Jimmy fan and Trey as well. They're gone and neither can hold Purdy's jock strap.

Get over it, let it go, or stay out of the thread. But if you choose to be talking crazy like this, then expect to be called out over and over.

Lol as if you can command me to stay out of the thread if I say something you don't like.

What a joke.

And makes sense if Brock was just differentiating between his shorter TD to Aiyuk vs the 19-yarder thus called it the deep ball. It is the only way saying that does make sense so I like your interpretation of his comment.

Now I am def bullish on Trey and thought it was the dumbest s**t in the world that we brought in a proven 55-game mediocre qb in Darnold to be QB2 and it could easily bite us in the ass if Brock goes down, but Brock earned QB1 w his play last year. I just hope he can get us over the finish line and bring us #6 unlike Jimmy because Darnold certainly is not capable of doing so.

The good thing about Sam is that his style is a bit closer to Brock's than Trey's, which means if Brock gets hurt the offense won't have to change quite as much.

But if you're going to bring up Trey and be mad about it, remember that HE requested practice off and HE requested a trade. Hell, maybe if he didn't, we'd have waited and gotten a third from the Jets.

I am sure dude is Hella mad after he prayed for rain and God gave Brock a lovely day.

He might be better than lance. He forced a couple but his placement seems really accurate to where he wants to put the ball.

If it comes down to him and sudfeld you have to cut sudfeld on his potential alone.

He might be a diamond in the rough. You can't cut him he's shown way too much potential and he will get scooped up. His floor to me looks like fringe starter high quality backup maybe better. With experience he might be a franchise QB.

Holy bad takes batman

Or have elite processing ability before and after the snap, make excellent decisions, get the ball out quick, excellent mechanics, throw accurate catchable passes. Don't make the big mistakes.

So which would you rather have? Somebody tell Cohn and these other idiots.

Josh Allen isn't a "meathead." He played a great defense and tried to do too much.

If Allen somehow made Purdy money, then the choice is obvious. The dude had 42 TDs and like 12 picks one year.

Allen was arm punting his tail off tonight

My guess is you're one of the guys who in 2020 steadfastly said you'd rather have Jimmy than Stafford, and then Stafford has an MVP quality season and outplays Jimmy in the playoffs before winning the Super Bowl.

It's okay to be a homer but just be aware of it. ;)

He had a bad game, Allen is legit.

Nah, he's the most overrated QB in the NFL. The guy is an INT machine.

His career INT% is the same as Brock's was last year. He was an INT machine SUNDAY. He has not been throughout his career.

Tua was the highest ypa passer last year. It's not a fluke that he's a very, very good QB. He may have the best arm in the NFL.

till he played the Niners, need to see him do it against a good team but he's a lovely QB to watch.

Can he last though as his head is a marshmellow.

Brock seems instinctive. But to process quickly he has to have good input. I suspect he has elite vision, and then the athleticism to react.

He also has a tremendous feel and sense for the game, which you can see with Baldy's take. When he held the ball on his first read, he knew precisely where to turn, and had anticipated that McCaffrey would be open so he was physically ready to throw with minimal hesitation as his body was turning. It's almost like he knew where the hole in the coverage would be to his left based on what he saw to his right before pumping instead of throwing. Just brilliant quarterbacking.

That was prime Russell Wilson-like evasion skills. I'm wondering if that pass was meant for Kittle, but Deebo intercepted it.

I thought it was for kittle as well initially

I'm watching it again. I think it was for Deebo. Kittle was not open when the pass was thrown whereas Deebo was open.

He's not super accurate all the time, but he's accurate enough. It was slightly off, but he was moving and had a guy chasing him down. I'll take the elite processing and reaction time over the elite pin point accuracy. Darnold is the slightly more accurate QB* and Purdy is the better QB by a lot.

*If Darnold had enough pass attempts to qualify last year he would have been top ten in on target percentage per PFR. And he was one spot above Purdy, had both had enough attempts to qualify.

Lord people still hung up on this strong arm thing? Jamarcus Russell had a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. It's not everything at QB.

You guys every hear of Steve Young, Joe Montana, Drew Brees? None of those had a strong arm. I don't think they are much better than Purdy. His arm is not horrible. It's pretty decent with very accurate. Plus great processing and excellent decision making. In addition to sneaky quickness in a 10 - 15 yard box area. Where he can scramble to buy more time to throw or run for a 1st down. He has absolutely everything you need to win in this league. Nothing is lacking. In fact he never lost a game yet where he didn't tear his elbow. Which is unbelievable.

Uh…Steve young. Strong arm. Very. Stop.

Steve didn't have a strong arm. It was fairly average. Stronger than Joe probably, but not by much. He could make every pass. His arm was strong enough to throw to every spot on the field, but he wasn't throwing 40 yard dimes while falling backward. He was great because he was just insanely accurate.

Are you sure? We were told it was simply Kyle's scheme that had guys wide open.

Maybe looking off the defender is part of the scheme? I mean Jimmy did that too. I'm not Saiyan I'm just sayin'.

Fearless. I wonder if he yelled out "oh my god!" like Geno Smith, probably not.

He seems more like an "oh my gosh" guy.

Nothing beats this

Thank you. I never knew.
