QB Brock Purdy Thread

I can't wait for us to throttle the eagles this year. I know they're a good team but I feel like we are so much better and more focused. It'll be a great test because it'll be slightly passed mid season, great barometer of where we are and how we are gelling.

fortunately, we have a team that's played a lot of football together. So I think we will be alright and in mid season form.

i think sirianni is a bunk ass overrated coach and the only reason they've won is because they're so stacked, not because he coaches them up well.

Does seem like their O has taken a step back. If the entire pass game is screens and deep shots the are going to struggle when they can't dominate in the run game.

Week 13, I think, is the Eagles vs 49ers game. It will be interesting to see how the eagles and the 49ers match up at that time. Eagles, from watching the Eagles/Vikings highlights, didn't look too impressive - allowing Minnesota to come back from a (I think) a 20 point deficit. Last year they probably would have ended with Minnesota never being able to come back via the pass, and that Eagle pass rush may have fallen off without Hargrave.

It's just so far off, the teams will look different. Teams evolve over the course of a season. I'm focused on the Rams here, that's a game for an early 1st place. McVay v Shanny is always fun to watch imo.
It's so nice to have a decisive QB, not indecisive like Jimmy & Trey were/are, Brock just seems to know when to throw it away, yeah he got sacked 3 times by Watt Sunday, but that was against McKivitz, but Purdy has the vision, arm strength, & moxie to be an elite franchise QB, and what's great is we have him for 2 more years until he can get a new deal(2025), I can see him getting $50M a year if he continues playing the way he is, and that will be a bargain by 2030 when the cap will likely be $400M.

Yeah, by week 13 we'll have injuries, they will, who knows what happens, record wise, it'd be great to best them in Philly with Brock at QB, so all the Eagles fans can STFU about us not having a QB.

The delusional/homer side of me is hoping that he's Tom Brady, recognizes that $1M a year is already a ton of money for him and his family, and takes a hometown discount at $40-45M a year

The NFLPA would never allow it though, lol. They would go bonkers.

I hate siriani too, patiently waiting for that regime to fail
The force is strong with young Purdy. But is he a jedi yet?

He has his hand cut off… so he's a Skywalker. He needs to confront the Eagles and win, then "Jedi he will be…"

Id be very happy if we were able to pay him - for two reasons. The cap growth that you mentioned and because I think Brock is just scratching the surface. I think he will continue to grow and that what we are seeing isn't his ceiling.

He's already accomplished so many historical feats in his first 9-10 games, all wins too. Including two big time play off games. His consistent ability to put up 2 touchdowns a game and a 95+ rating.

he reminds me of a young Brady, just did all the processing/leadership/accuracy/preparation etc. it's like his skill set is better built for the pros than college - just like Brady's. I'm not saying Brock is going to accomplish what Brady did, but I'll take 1/7th of it.

I think he's one of those coaches that can't have sustained success because he's a super douche. Lol what I mean by that is the players stop buying into him and his BS, while early on he gets em fired up.

i think it'll be telling this year how he will look with having to replace his coordinators. I don't think many fans realize how good their OC was, he's had tons of success in this league. He's the only reason I think Richardson has a chance to develop.

Right? And another 30 burger on offense. It's almost routine now to score 30 plus points with Brock at the helm.
Patiently waiting for BP to enter the national MVP conversation
they'll get there, just got to be patient

Well I mean, If we go off his first 9-10 games… no way he isn't.

1) he will most likely have a great W/L record, unless he falls off a cliff. I know some don't like to give a QB much props on the teams W/L but it's usually a big factor if they have really good stats. I've always felt like that is why Jimmy didn't get more credit, he always had average to above average stats.

2) he will have great stats. Lol I mean by week 10, he could easily have 20+ touchdowns and finish the year 30+ touchdowns

nothing im saying is far fetched - it's just him continuing what he's been doing. I think he will have at least 25-28 touchdowns and like 7 picks. Crazy strong win/loss record

Isnt the 49ers all time record like 32 passing touchdowns?
