Sadly the league has evolved past storylines.

It's about money now and not storylines. Think of Caleb Williams and company getting paid 1-3 million per year in college, when they hit the NFL... those same investors dont want to hear about Mr Irrelevant's cinderella story. They want to hear about how the back to back heisman winner they paid ~$6m in college for is ahead of his time even if it turns out to be a 6-11 cardinals team... oh wait that wont happen cause they will just keep him in college for another year making millions.

The boosters and companies paying millions to college athletes dont give 2 sh*ts about cinderellas anymore, they want their product they invested in propped up even if they are pulling a justin fields or faltering alltogether.
I want BP to beat Mahomes so bad lol

Well I mean, If we go off his first 9-10 games… no way he isn't.

1) he will most likely have a great W/L record, unless he falls off a cliff. I know some don't like to give a QB much props on the teams W/L but it's usually a big factor if they have really good stats. I've always felt like that is why Jimmy didn't get more credit, he always had average to above average stats.

2) he will have great stats. Lol I mean by week 10, he could easily have 20+ touchdowns and finish the year 30+ touchdowns

nothing im saying is far fetched - it's just him continuing what he's been doing. I think he will have at least 25-28 touchdowns and like 7 picks. Crazy strong win/loss record

Isnt the 49ers all time record like 32 passing touchdowns?

49ers record is 36 TDs, by Steve Young in 1998 if I'm not mistaken

I think I was confusing it for the all time passing yards in a single 49ers season - Jeff Garcia has that one with just over 4K yards.

steve young has the top passing seasons
36 in 1998
34 in 1994

Jeff Garcia has third place with 32 passing tds.

Perfect way to say it. Lol my friend who is a Miami fan, who doesn't like the Niners at all, even likes Purdy. Lol
Purdy unites and wins games

Elite processing skills and a 10 yard split are apparently highly underrated QB skills.

He's not just beating team he's crushing them within the first half.

I honestly believe that QBs only have so much ability to manage stress and win close games and comeback games in the second half. Jimmy has elite clutchness but just could not turn it on until the game was on the line. He was forced I to that scenario way too much even for his elite clutch ability to consistently win 4 games vs playoff teams in a row.

Purdy crushes teams. By the second half he's already on cruise control. I believe this will keep his overall stress and need to be clutch to way less games than Jimmy.

This gives us so much better of a chance of winning a SB because he will only need to have a few good games in the playoffs where he will be forced to "give it his all"

Our offense has averaged 5 more points in the first half since the TB game. That is compared to the offense ran with Jimmy and CMC starting with the rams game.

Weeks 8,10,11,12 we averaged 12 pp 1st half.

Weeks 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 1 we have averagef 17 pp 1st half.

So there certainly is some merit to what you are saying. Jimmy did have a habit of making things harder on himself.

I fully see that as well. Has anyone looked into our rushing yards and TD's comparisons in the first half as well as they seem to play off each other?

That is quite a bit more work. Could take an hour or more to research that. My fee is $25 an hour so... 😁

on that play, is it not scheme/play design ?

Its a great scheme being executed at its highest level by great qb play. Two things being true at the same time.

it's a PA route combo every team has in their playbook, its not some special wicked mojo Kyle dreamed up and unveiled on Sunday.... the team and Brock executed it to perfection... the play is concept is based on what is called a horizontal stretch of the deep coverage, since the field is compressed it's stressing the playside safety to make a choice, cover Deebo and ignore BA behind (which he is not aware of yet) or just sit there and do nothing... you saw the result, Brocky looked at Deebo first (which is how inside breaking routes are progressed, from inside first to outside) and let the safety run with the bobber before setting the hook to turn back and sling it to the wide open BA.... Brocky was compeletely toying with the safety and fully owned him, and held him there until he was ready to turn back and hit BA

Exactly this. People acting like Kyle is some crazy mastermind who is coming up with plays no one has ever seen before. Lol it's ridiculous. He's a great playcaller and good at antipating what the other coach is going to do. He finds mismatches. But he NEEDS a QB who can execute his offense.

There are some pass plays that Kyle dials up that seem unique to me, but for the most part, his pass play designs aren't innovative where no team has ever ran them before. Kyle's talent as a playcaller are the sequencing of his plays (setting up a defense) and the ability to anticipate what the DC is about to call. imo.

Here's that play. On this particular play, Brock looking to Deebo first, then Aiyuk, is the natural progression of the reads. Like stated above it's a horizontal stretch and most horizontal stretch plays are read inside-out (Deebo to Aiyuk).

even more impressive is that there were only 2 out in this route combo, I thought they would have had CMC wheel up the sideline to stress the corner! just two receivers out to completely dominate 3 in the deep coverage, 4 if you include the sinking corner, it speaks of the confidence KS has in the talent of Deebo and BA along with Brocky's ability to execute the play

I agree with your prior assessment in that what is special about KS is his ability to sequence plays, have a myriad of counter's to his base plays, and counters to his counters....

he does show unique innovation as well from time to time, one I can remember was a 4th and 1 in shotgun and Juice came in motion then stopped and took the snap for a QB sneak that was cool!
I can tell you that 11 of Purdy's 15 regular season TD passes have come in the 1st half of games.

Walsh would've love Bock. The ability to punch em in the mouth early, especially on the road.

Good thing we're usually blowing the other team out and don't have to throw very many TD's in the second half.

Games we've had to do so, he's done so (at Seahawks, vs. Commanders, at Raiders, first playoff game, etc.)

He just says all the right things off the field, is an inherent underdog being drafted literally last overall, and, let's just be real here, your average unathletic NFL fan (such as myself ) can relate to him a bit more than any other NFL player. He's an inspiration.

Unless your team is playing against us, he's a feel-good story.
Ah shucks as Purdy would say I was just doing what the coach called. The one thing Purdy has is humility when he's not playing and talking to reporters. But when he steps onto the field the competitor comes out and it sure is fun to watch. The kid has moxie and I really like how he does his thing. Just my observation.
