QB Brock Purdy Thread

If Brock_Star wins the Super Bowl they will make a Hollywood movie about this guy. Who will play him though? It has to be somebody with a very young face. That looks like he is still in High School. He even shows up with a backpack.

so many tv talking heads have draft brains, they just don't want to place purdy in high regard because of where he was drafted.

Ppl gotta always pick on us lefties 😄

Steve Young had fast legs and an ACCURATE arm. His arm was not the strongest. He had great reads, anticipation and throwing with accuracy.

Man those scenes bring back some great memories. Amazing the 49ers had two back to back **HALL of FAME** QB's. That's not going to happen again for another 100 years, if ever. Now the 49ers have a possible one in the making, with Brock. Man o man, did Kyle and this fan base get lucky with Purdy. What a fantastic and inspirational story! I can't wait to see the ending of it this year.

Joe and Steve played over 20 years ago when players were smaller. You didn't see 240-250 lbs QBs that could run. By todays standards, Brock isn't big and physical. He's average.
They also played when the D could and did hit QB's often. Now they have the Brady rule where you get a roughing call if you breathe too hard on them. Given how Brady used to complain about being hit I believe he would not have lasted in the 80's and early 90's. But that is just my opinion.

I assume you mean it won't happen again after the Packers. The Niners got something like 19 seasons out of Montana-Young, which is basically around what the Pats got out of Tom Brady. The Packers got 30 seasons, yet only won two Super Bowls.

Just watch the way he PLAYS instead of obsessing about draft status. He was mis drafted. That's obvious. He's much better than where he was drafted. Way, way better.
Doesn't matter where he was drafted the kid can play ball and I'm glad we have him!!!!!

Packers are the only other team I can think of that have three hall of fame level QB's in their history. Starr, Farve and Rodgers. The kind of ownership the packers have, might be what's causing it. It's a stock company, I think, and most NFL ownerships, like the 49ers aren't stock corporations. I could be wrong though.

The 49er ownership is unique in that they really care about super bowls, and I'm sure the packers' owners (the many thousands of them) do also, but they can't hold their head coaches' feet to the fire like the 49er ownership can. Packers also have a hall of fame Coach in Vince Lombardi. Just like the 49ers have with Bill Walsh. It's a storied franchise like the 49ers, Cowboys, Steelers, and (recently) the Patriots.

Green Bay is the only franchise owned by their fans.

Well, lately they've been owned by the 49ers.

They are, but their stocks don't give anyone power. They're really just ceremonial and generate cash for the franchise, which makes sense because they're a small team market and probably needed help getting money.

There might be different versions of the stock that certain people have, giving them certain "ownership rights". Like a board of directors who have the ability fire and hire people to run the franchise. I'm really not sure

Honestly how much longer can the nonsense continue? These so called pundits and other fan bases are incredibly annoying.

He wins almost every game he enters. He has elite processing pre snap and post snap. He goes though reads and progressions quickly, makes excellent decisions, gets the ball out quick, has great mechanics, throws an accurate catchable ball. Beyond that Purdy is sneaky quick and athletic in a 10 - 15 yard box area. Which buys him time to throw or scramble for a 1st down.

Other than his draft status and the name that comes with there is literally nothing you can point to that he does bad.

It's like Steve Young said. If you doubt Purdy he is the type of guy who will make you look foolish. I agree completely.

What will it take? Win the Super Bowl? Get to the Pro Bowl? Keep winning games with the outstanding TD to INT ratio?

I said it earlier and I'll say it again:

The Dallas game on SNF. If he plays well that game, there will be no more "well maybe…" it will simply be "he's that guy."

Every franchise QB has two moments: one when the fanbase realizes it and another when the national media realizes it. The fanbase realized it when he slaughtered the Seahawks in the playoffs (for some it was sooner, like the Bucs/Seahawks regular season games, but that was when the vast majority of the fanbase realized it).

The national media hasn't realized it yet, but that moment is coming.
