yup, not INTs, no forced throws, no throws into double coverage, no drop INTs, avg score of 30 .. yeah in no way was this a jimmy game

I meant it in the sense that he was more of a pure 'game manager' in terms of impact. Call it an Alex Smith style win, lol.

Did Alex ever go 9-0?

That's what it seemed like to me. A Jimmy G style win without the bonehead play(s).

I'd probably be more on the B to B+. He did a lot of the little things well and protected the ball well, evaded pressure well.

to me, he missed those three throws (at key times), we weren't as good in third downs, he seemed to have a miscommunication a few times. So a B to B+ for me.

if we all didn't have PTSD from jimmy having games like this, we would be happier. Hahaha

At Utah yeah. And in high school.

Yeah, his rookie year when he threw 1 touchdown and 11 interceptions. Hahaha he was on a terror with wins

His accuracy was spotty on various throws throughout the game I thought… not just on the long ones. Just a little bit off today. Still protected the ball, made a couple nice plays, and had a very nice drive to end the 1st half.

Like SWH mentioned, he was also inaccurate on some other throws. Why I agree with the B-.
Purdy has 9 games under his belt and it's only week 2. It's ok if he misses a few deep throws. I'm not gonna be super critical of him. He played well - missed a few deep throws.

Happens. I'll be more upset if this is happening later in the season. He played well other than a few throws.

Defense in the 2nd half was something else.

Why I said we'd have taken this from Jimmy every week. It was a clean game, just not spectacular. Which is what we've come to expect. Means he's the ONE.
lol, the one huh

that was a great season cause i had to wait to the last game to see that TD

He def wasn't as accurate today. There was the one to George kittle that was a little behind, there was one to jennings that was a tough catch (I think behind him).

when you throw as little as he does, it sticks out.

i just would grade him closer to a B to B+ than a C+ or B- because even though they were off, most of them were still catchable.

There were two plays that had miscommunications, which may not be his fault, but he's QB so it falls on him. One to Aiyuk and then the final drive there where he went to hot route it to CMC and CMC ran inwards and he expected it to be out. That would of most likely been at least s first down and possibly a touchdown.

but I look at these as all very fixable and once we do, it'll be a beautiful thing to watch

Man those days, you'd hope Alex *would ever play* a game like Brock's worst game. On that missed slant to Deebo, his mechanic's were just off. We'll see how he plays against the Giants, but this game was one of Brock's worsts, and yet I'll take this vs Alex's best games any day.

Let's simplify it and go with the pass/fail system, lol.

That was the year gore broke onto the scene. I'm glad he's with the organization again. Even when he left, you could tell he still loved the 49ers. He had so much heart and soul for the game and this organization. He's one of the few players in recent history was that unanimously loved, for good reason too.

Was the following season when Turner was OC that Gore broke out. Smith finished that season 16/16 in td/int I believe.

Kevan Barlow was the man the year Alex went 1/11*. What a time to be alive.

LMAO I think you and I see it similar. Percentage wise we would just have a +- of 5%. variation. We both def think he passed.
