Had to be some idea that he might have time for an onside kick recovery and a penalty.

Sometimes gamblers need reminders that 7.5-8.5 is a lot of points and backdoor covers happen.

i thought this was probably his best pass today. Right nice placement on this kne

I can't remember which throw it was but he had Donald going full speed right at him and he hit the throw. Hi. making these this is far more important than arm strength.

lol everyone knows a FG will run 4+ seconds off. There was no potential of an onside. He kicked the FG to make the margin of loss look better.

I don't think margin of victory or loss, especially in this kind of context, is a big concern for coaches but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that's what McVay was doing.

I also agree that it's silly to think that kick would take less than 4 seconds. It didn't make much sense. I don't think it had to do with gambling in any case.

I think a B- is fair. Just means he's set the bar pretty damn high. We'd have taken this game from Jimmy every week lol.

That's what it seemed like to me. A Jimmy G style win without the bonehead play(s).

I'd probably be more on the B to B+. He did a lot of the little things well and protected the ball well, evaded pressure well.

to me, he missed those three throws (at key times), we weren't as good in third downs, he seemed to have a miscommunication a few times. So a B to B+ for me.

if we all didn't have PTSD from jimmy having games like this, we would be happier. Hahaha

Jimmy would have thrown atleast 1 INT in this game.
Butthurt Jets fan to me about Purdy.."but idk though, he was the last pick of the draft..he can't be that good." Still using this huh? lol. Bet he hasn't even watched a full game with him. Jets fans

PIT - W, 1 LF

So in the 10 full games he's played he is 10-0 with only 4 turnovers.

He also booted out a 3rd overall pick and a backup qb making $$$ to make the roster his rookie year

That was the year gore broke onto the scene. I'm glad he's with the organization again. Even when he left, you could tell he still loved the 49ers. He had so much heart and soul for the game and this organization. He's one of the few players in recent history was that unanimously loved, for good reason too.

Was the following season when Turner was OC that Gore broke out. Smith finished that season 16/16 in td/int I believe.

Kevan Barlow was the man that season. What a time to be alive.

You're right, it was 2006. Gore and smith were 2005 rookies. The only good thing we did for a young Alex was give him a beast running back to lean on. Hahaha

i feel like gore was the last of the "bell cows". Him, peterson, LT. You just don't see it for very long anymore

CMC does a pretty good impression of Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk.

CMC might win awards this year. He's already at
44 Attempts 268 yards

i saw a cool that he is near breaking the record for most consecutive games scoring a touchdown. He also has won every game as a 49er besides the KC. It's crazy that we haven't lost a regular season game with him that he's been here for at least a week lol

Folks pointed out that Kyle is using up Christian too much. I tend to agree. Still it was a close game and you want the stars out there to make sure Rams don't come back, although I agree that CMC can do another 1k-run 1k-pass, but got to make sure he's not overworked and seriously injured. I'd love to see more Mitchell and Mason - but probably not too much in a tight game like this.

Next Thursday game at least, will be on grass.

Jets fans shouldn't be talking, they used the 2nd pick on probably the worst starting qb currently

He missed two long balls on Aiyuk and Samuel that could have been TDs.
But seriously, 23 years old, playing against Donald and a good Rams Defense, he's just calm.
The long pass to Jennings was great and the game changer ultimately. And it was IMHO a more difficult pass than the ones to Aiyuk and Deebo.
Sometimes, I would like Kyle to let him more pass on first downs but it's the beginning of the season, an away game, you take what you can.
And again 30 points scored by the offense and that should have been more between the mistakes in redzone or the flags.

If we going to be remembering then why stop there, lets remember our 5 rings to their 1
I thought Brock played really well on the whole, can't wait for Jonny D's breakdown. Obviously he had those 3 deep overthrows and the missed slant to Deebo.

We don't need him to hit all 3 deep ones, but he's got to hit at least one to be considered at that next level, it will come
Hey, a win is a win. But three MASSIVE misses today, two are likely TDs, and possibly a third if JJ outruns / breaks the incoming tackle.

Brock took responsibility, good. Looking forward to him improving in that area down the road, because in Feb. against KC, PM isn't going to turn into a pumpkin like Stafford.
