King is absolutely right. Purdy's draft status is coloring these reactions, because that's the standard Purdy is expected to return to - 7th round nobody.

If he was a 1st or 2nd round pick people would be saying "man, he's really living up to his expectations" instead.

That's the way media narratives work. It's unfair, and it doesn't really matter for what happens on the field, but it's the reality.

Tom Brady had won THREE Super Bowls and still prior to the 2007 16-0 year some in the media framed it as him being lucky to be matched up with that defense, "just" an elite game manager, etc. The draft spot of Purdy is going to stick with him for a LONG time even if he wins multiple championships.

And florio indirectly confirmed that he was judging him based on the personal initial bias he created. Brock Purdy isn't a QB name… Florio essentially showed how non-objective and biased the media is.

he'll jump on the wagon when the other 🐑 start leading the way lol
Had to listen but it's so hard to absorb the BS florio spouts at every single opportunity!
Essentially he's still holding Purdy to more testing 🙄 ... never heard anyone so desperate to be "right!"

YAC bros is right. Brock has 4 TDs in 3 games. (4/3)*17 ≈ 23.

He may have added his rushing TD by accident or out of context.

But he only has one rushing TD, right? That's a total of 5 TDs, and (5/3)*17 ≈ 28.

And if you hear what his "only" test left is, its "win a big game by making the hero deep pass". That's it. That's apparently all Florio needs to see. So Purdy could throw for 5000 yards this season and 50 TDs while going 17-0 and Florio could still point to the lack of "big game" hero ball and say "Eh, I'm still not sure if we know how good he is."

Exactly and looks like King is wondering why he has to talk to this a-hole!

Can you spot the difference? (answer below)

Lloyd is missing a tooth.
I really hope JTO does a video on Brock's game last night. Would be interesting because of the record blitz.

I think if this game tells us anything, it is that we over estimate Deebo...not Purdy.

Deebo looked like an extra player, not a core part of an offense. He looked like a dude you add once you have everything else in place.

It is one game...so can't let it tell too much of a story....but this offense looks crisper last year with no Deebo then it does this year with no BA.

The best thing the 49ers could do for Purdy is go get him another super crisp rout runner that is where he is suppose to be when he is suppose to be there and spread the darn field out.

So much tight formations this game... it ruins space in the passing game. I know why they are doing it with a run heavy game plan, they want the run blocking rules advantages skill players get from tight formations, but dang man....you got a QB with 10 games under his belt, give him the larger passing windows that come from spreading the field out.

Great post and spot on.
So true. The giants lined up in a phone booth like half the game. How many did times did the giants stack 7 players literally beween the tackles. Thought we'd have some hot concentpts from the coaching staff but didn't look like it,

That is the advantage the 49ers get with outside zone runs....you can have the skill guys bock down the chase traffic with out flags if they are in tight.

The problem is when we want to keep formation balance and pass out of tight formations...your WRs are now playing basketball..with defenders bodying them...and in the case of Deebo, the dudes catch radius looked microscopically small this game.

It is one game...the 49ers won with ease....so can't say too much negative about it, but in the 1st half I think Deebo had 3 missed catches hit him in at least one hand, 2 were probably catchable. Deebo did not look crisp.

It is a stark contrast to CMC catching nearly everything that went his way, and Deebo short arming a few catches. You got two guys that do similar things in the passing game and CMC honestly looks to be the more dependable of the two.

I love Deebo, hope we keep Deebo forever the dude is a game changer no doubt, but I hope the 49ers zero in on a tier A+ rout runner to add to this offense incase they loose BA. It would help the 49ers keep the chains moving. Again Deebo is great, but I don't think he is an elite down in and down out guy to move the chains. It is probably why he is such a gadget guy, you want the ball in his hands and you can't always do it with a conventional passing attack.

From the perspective of Purdy....you want your young QB to have that security blanket, you want a guy who is where he is suppose to be when he is suppose to be there. They need another elite rout runner.

Hope we keep BA.. but if not how about Hopkins next year or the year after... he was kind of mad we didn't reach out to him this past offseason.

I think they use some of that $41 million to extend Brandon. He's a much better receiver than Hopkins at this point.

Had to share Cohn's analysis of Purdy

Threw for 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, posted a passer rating of 111.3, and yet those numbers don't show how many check down passes went for big gains because great players picked up big yardage after the catch. Purdy's two touchdown passes were absolute dimes, but he also threw at least two other passes that should have been intercepted, plus he fumbled a snap for the second time this season. Overall, Purdy played well, but not as well as last week when he missed three deep passes. His play has gotten slightly worse every week this year. Perhaps the league is beginning to catch up with him. He'll need to play much better to beat playoff teams.

You have to wonder, if there's something psychological going on here. Lol

Yes, there definitely is. It's called TDS (tiny dick syndrome). It's main symptoms are extreme ignorance of the game of football, an unusually severe disconnect between perception and reality, and a penis the size of a tic-tac. It is most common among talent-less hack nepo-babies whose fathers carry the genetic marker for it.
