and Mooney Ward has zero respect for "steroid boy". hard pass.

D hop would be so pissed if he got only a couple targets, like what happens to kittle and deebo some weeks

and also he doesn't block like the rest

Yeah, Hopkins is an incredible talent but our skill position players HAVE to run block, run each route honestly and hard every play, and catch. D hop is about d hop, he wants his - especially a lot of money. I can't fault him for it, I'm just saying that he isn't a fit for us at this time.

plus, I feel really comfortable with our WR room, very promising. deebo, Aiyuk, jennings, hill, CMC, Kittle - some are interchangeable - so I count them all.

Dhop would have to give 100% on pass plays even though his route may not be primary.... me thinks he is not interested in that

Hopkins practiced like 2 days a week with the Cardinals. He was there to catch the football and showed little interest in anything else.

Brock with 18-1 odds right now to win MVP! Would be an insane story. I don't think it happens but it's super cool to think about. Week 5 is going to be insane with so many consequences, good or bad, I can't wait.

I just think at best he gets split votes with CMC if voters actually look the Niners' way for league MVP. So for that reason it's unlikely he wins it (and also hurts CMC's chances, which are already low because he's a RB).

I can see CMC winning it more so than Brock, If anyone on the niners wins it - assuming everyone stays healthy. Which is cool with me. CMC got super snubbed last year with Not even a pro bowl nod, ridiculous.

I always hear crazy comparisons for CMC but I think the best one is Marshall Faulk, just their play style. I like to think of CMC as himself, cause he's that good, but play style comparisons are only roger Craig & Marshall Faulk.

Right now it's going to be Tua for MVP and CMC for Offensive Player of the Year.
Brock is 73/119 for 846 yards 6 TD's, 1 INT with a 96.6 passer rating against the blitz in his career.

Probably they should stop blitzing him so much. LOL.

One thing that'll stand out on tape is that he threw a few "almost picks" under pressure. Top tier defenses will take that chance and capitalize on those.
More media is starting to come over. But still some disrespecting. Which I think is so annoying. But what can you do? I had to sit next to 3 Giants fans last night at the sports bar. What a bunch of drunk idiots. They were calling Purdy "a little kid." "He's not that good." "He's overrated."

By the end of the night they were pretty damn quiet. They knew I was cheering for the 49ers too. You should hear how these meatheads talk. They didn't have much to say by end game. Mostly their heads were down and very quiet.

This was an absolute dime. I hope someone can post the a22 of this throw because the game camera didn't do it justice. The replay they showed on the screen was beyond impressive.

Found it. This throw was RIDICULOUS.

Had to share Cohn's analysis of Purdy

Threw for 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, posted a passer rating of 111.3, and yet those numbers don't show how many check down passes went for big gains because great players picked up big yardage after the catch. Purdy's two touchdown passes were absolute dimes, but he also threw at least two other passes that should have been intercepted, plus he fumbled a snap for the second time this season. Overall, Purdy played well, but not as well as last week when he missed three deep passes. His play has gotten slightly worse every week this year. Perhaps the league is beginning to catch up with him. He'll need to play much better to beat playoff teams.

You have to wonder, if there's something psychological going on here. Lol

Yes, there definitely is. It's called TDS (tiny dick syndrome). It's main symptoms are extreme ignorance of the game of football, an unusually severe disconnect between perception and reality, and a penis the size of a tic-tac. It is most common among talent-less hack nepo-babies whose fathers carry the genetic marker for it.

The first 10 minutes of this conversation is GOLD! Pro Football Talk

King is absolutely right. Purdy's draft status is coloring these reactions, because that's the standard Purdy is expected to return to - 7th round nobody.

If he was a 1st or 2nd round pick people would be saying "man, he's really living up to his expectations" instead.

That's the way media narratives work. It's unfair, and it doesn't really matter for what happens on the field, but it's the reality.

Tom Brady had won THREE Super Bowls and still prior to the 2007 16-0 year some in the media framed it as him being lucky to be matched up with that defense, "just" an elite game manager, etc. The draft spot of Purdy is going to stick with him for a LONG time even if he wins multiple championships.

And florio indirectly confirmed that he was judging him based on the personal initial bias he created. Brock Purdy isn't a QB name… Florio essentially showed how non-objective and biased the media is.

he'll jump on the wagon when the other 🐑 start leading the way lol
Had to listen but it's so hard to absorb the BS florio spouts at every single opportunity!
Essentially he's still holding Purdy to more testing 🙄 ... never heard anyone so desperate to be "right!"

And if you hear what his "only" test left is, its "win a big game by making the hero deep pass". That's it. That's apparently all Florio needs to see. So Purdy could throw for 5000 yards this season and 50 TDs while going 17-0 and Florio could still point to the lack of "big game" hero ball and say "Eh, I'm still not sure if we know how good he is."

If he's still looking for additional visible markers of his ability, that means he has no idea what to look for. Because Purdy is showing everyone what consistent, good decision making looks like every quarter of every game he has played. It's amazing to me people are desperately searching for big splash conspicuous plays. Lord.

What Purdy is doing at QB, is a lot like what Jerry did at WR to be successful. Few gymnastic catches like fred biletnikoff, Sterling Sharpe, gary garrison.

Nope. Most of Jerry's catches were easy, in-stride completions. So easy they looked like your grandmother could catch them. Very few analysts could break down exactly why everything looked effortless. Purdy is doing the same with his job, that jerry did with his. And if you don't get it, you don't get it.
