I hope that jed is hooking Brock up with some nice Off the field investments that he is privy too. Lol help ya boy out! Man is middle class in that part of the country making $900k hahaha
The hate against Purdy is crazy. I don't think many people are claiming Purdy is a top 5 quarterback or MVP candidate (I am not), but this dude can obviously play. He looked off the first half last night but adjusted to the blitz well and played great in the second half. That throw to Ronnie Bell for the TD was amazing. He threw that ball before Bell broke. His throw to Deebo was similar and amazing. At worst he is a better version of Jimmy: accurate, quick release, good on third down but with less turnovers and he gives us a couple wow plays in each game. What else can this team ask for? I mean seriously. I wonder if a part of the hate is the changing of expectations where last year he was such a surprise and was "Mr. Irrelevant" while now people unrealistically expect him to be Mahomes. Dude has played in how many games in the NFL? It's like once the narrative stamps "this qbis elite" or "this player is not worth drafting" that the moniker stays with the player. If Purdy was drafted in the first round the narrative would be completely different. I for one don't doubt this kid and am pumped he is a qb.

The poverty line in the Bay Area is over $100k, so yeah he's just a regular dude financially lol. Eddie D would have been dropping off briefcases full of cash, I'm sure Jed is hooking him up with something.

Reminder that BCB is undefeated in his career in games he finishes. That's 11-0 for you hating ass weenie boys.

Just looked at last years first three weeks. Offensive points scored were 10 - vs Chicago, 27 vs Seattle, and 10 vs Denver. So 30 point per game, the first three weeks of this year definitely is a TON better than last year.

P.S. 1-2 last year vs 3-0 this year is also arrow up.

I love that we've got off to a great start as a whole. We've really dominated our opponents for the most part, but also have left so much on the table. That's the exciting part to me. So so much more to look forward to and it seems like we will be hitting all gears at the perfect time, while maintaining a top record.

Take care of your chicken (Marshawn Lynch slang) and see you boys next Sunday!

I have to look at the philm, but from what I've seen of the 49ers/Giants highlights, the right side of the line progressed (again, I reserve my right to change my opinion after I look at the game replays) but it looks like the right side did good in picking up the multiple blitzes and also did some good (not great) run blocking and moved the NY Giant's DLine around for some good right side runs. Ironically, the left side regressed a bit. Trent with a couple of penalties, and Banks, I think missed a couple of blocks. Still that left side run game is explosive behind Trent, Banks, and Brendel.

I'd like to see that OLine do better in pass protection. Yes, they got blitzed a TON, but there were some missed blocks that Brock still got some good passes out of. If he had more time, he'd have done better. Probably scored closer to 40 points vs 30. Losing Aiyuk reduced some of the vertical attack dimension the 49ers usually have. Bell was a nice addition and looks good as a player. This is another 7th round gem found by ShanaLynch. I would have liked to have seen Mason used earlier, but I understand that it was still a close game going into the 4th quarter.

Ownership is correct to extend ShanaLynch, before the price gets too high. Because if not now, their price might not just double, but TRIPPLE!
i hope we have money in the future to pay him the biggest QB contract in the NFL

Kyle said he reviewed the games film and was more impressed with Brock than he was originally cause of the pressure and missed assignments by the o line, and Brock still made plays. I love it!

i think our o line is playing solid - not great but not bad. The left side is fine, not concerned there. Brendel seems to struggle with interior pass blocking and the RG (can't remeber his name at the moment) seems to be really struggling.

They do seem to have improved though each game, which is what you want. I expected mckivitz to struggle because he's inexperienced and he's had tough competition. I just want them to get keeping better.

i think about the way Brock has handled it, and man… Jimmy would of lost us a game or two already. I really like jimmy and supported him but seeing the difference in how Brock anticipates and trusts his guys to make a play, his slick mobility - it's really saved our ass in quite a few situations so far. I just want the boys to get keeping better and better, stack em! Just like we are doing

Brocky bailed out Shannalynch on that sorry azz bust pick

I like to think of it as Brocky cost us 3 firsts and a 3rd, and TL cost us a 7th but netted us a 4th

When I think of all the Purdy hate, I always remind myself Brady was pretty much labelled a "game manager" by casuals until the Falcons Super Bowl while everyone was too busy slobbering the flashier QB in Aaron Rodgers. Not saying he's gonna be on Brady's level but the hate is just silly at this point.

Had to share Cohn's analysis of Purdy

Threw for 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, posted a passer rating of 111.3, and yet those numbers don't show how many check down passes went for big gains because great players picked up big yardage after the catch. Purdy's two touchdown passes were absolute dimes, but he also threw at least two other passes that should have been intercepted, plus he fumbled a snap for the second time this season. Overall, Purdy played well, but not as well as last week when he missed three deep passes. His play has gotten slightly worse every week this year. Perhaps the league is beginning to catch up with him. He'll need to play much better to beat playoff teams.

You have to wonder, if there's something psychological going on here. Lol

Yes, there definitely is. It's called TDS (tiny dick syndrome). It's main symptoms are extreme ignorance of the game of football, an unusually severe disconnect between perception and reality, and a penis the size of a tic-tac. It is most common among talent-less hack nepo-babies whose fathers carry the genetic marker for it.

You can say what you want, but I think looking at performance with the context is important! Fact is out of Purdy's 310 yards he threw for, 201 came from all star players getting YAC. That means, against the NY Giants, in 4 quarters Purdy only threw for 109 yards. Not going to cut it against a super bowl defense and offense. Luckily, most teams don't have both of those like we do and I think we have the best roster in the league. No teams can compete with that. But Purdy is great at making plays out of nothing, escaping pressure, and makes good decisions. His deep balls were nice yesterday and his 2 TD passes were elite! The second we pay him like a franchise QB and lose all that talent around him, our fanbase may be in for a rude awakening. But if we can find a way to keep him with this same roster for the next 5 years, we'll be competing for Superbowls. He is the person we need with this roster to win games. Way better than Jimmy G in my opinion. Cohn likes to hate on the niners and be negative, but at the same time a lot of fans live with rose colored glasses on and don't actually see what's happening in front of them. I think as a fan you need to root for your team and players and want them to succeed and be good, but that does not mean ignoring all the things that aren't great. We have to be balanced. Either way, I love watching Purdy way more than Jimmy and hope he stays healthy because if Darnold has to play that would not be good. This is our year to bring home that sixth Lombardi and long as Purdy and supporting cast stay healthy!

You can work the numbers to try and downgrade his performance if that is what makes you happy (as dumb as that is), I don't care one way or another. But I have to ask what this has to do with Grant Cohn and his unfortunate, but well earned, genetic penile disorder?

The account has only posted 44 times in the past 11 years. Probably a Cohn account.

You're probably right. Or one of his sycophants who have a craving for tic-tacs. Grant Cohn followers should here forth be labeled the TDS (tiny dick squad).

That knock on Brock is such bs. What is a QB supposed to do when he is getting blitzed? He is supposed to get the ball out quick and let his playmakers make plays. We all know what he can do with 3 or more seconds in the pocket. You're never going to get that against the blitz and he was blitzed more than anyone I have seen over the past 20+ years. Maybe ever.

Totally agree,

He did throw a hot route seam pass to Jennings and a number of throws with Capital A anticipation. People so quickly lose context and fall into narratives.

Yes shanny adjusted with all the blitzes by going horizontal vs vertical. But that's just good coaching. Sorry it doesn't give the media a hard on so we won't get top QB accolades by them but you know what… I'm good

Agree 💯%, and that's how I've read it since Brock's emergence. The 7th rounder getting us a 4th is the one I didn't think of though.

Agree, about the Brock hate. A lot of folks (non-49er fans) think Brock is system made by Kyle. They think that they can put any *decent* but not great QB in Kyle's system with all the stars on it, and they'd perform the same way that Brock is at. It's a wrong and annoying take for me, and as you said - it will take winning a championship or two, to get that label off Purdy. That 7th round pick label is tough to get rid of, if you are still a young guy without a big resume like him.
For those that missed it, Fitzy got Brock in touch with the best QB to ever lose to Montana in a Super Bowl.

Really like how Purdy is playing. Good poise, push the ball downfield, making good decisions.

I thought coverage was pretty good last night by the NYG. Our OL is meh, specifically RT/RG, and he handed it very well.
