Every time Kyle Shanahan is forced to answer a question about his QB during any news conference or after a game, there's always a cheesy grin on his face. You ever noticed that? Most of the time Kyle has granite face down to a T. But he can't help smiling when he talks about Brock Purdy.

The two QB's certainly share some similar traits but Brock has a long way to go to truly be compared to the great Joe Montana.

The thing is Trey Lance was the worst QB on the 49ers roster from 2021-23. I think Shanahan realized the early on.

He kind of had one against the Raiders. It's the Raiders though, and it wasn't the cleanest finish.
