Only four QBs have played 3 games and thrown 0 picks - Purdy, Stroud, Herbert, & Dobbs. Pretty impressive.

Not the names you would expect to hear.

Remember when cohn and some posters in here were saying Brock had a s**tty camp because of all the interceptions he was throwing IN TRAINING CAMP??? And idiots were stat collecting IN TRAINING CAMP???

That was probably Mr. Cone and the Cone heads.

"Remember when some posters were saying" is a wild thing to say coming from JC lol

Well, indeed!

JoseCortez and 9Moon have a unique perspectives on the 49ers which lend some interesting vibes to the WebZone. Sometimes I just have to remind myself if they are posting here, then they are 49er fans - in their own unique way!

Interesting and unique is putting it very nicely.

his first pick will be either from a deflection or a situation like that first down drive, where he is slightly unsure of what's going on because of exotic blitz. Brock throws the ball around pretty aggressively, I'm a little surprised he hasn't had one yet. Lol it isn't like he's playing super conservative

Every quarterback plays a bad game every once in a blue moon. Brock Purdy's day is coming. Still, I think he's earned a bit of forgiveness from loyal diehards. You know what I love? Every time Kyle Shanahan is forced to answer a question about his QB during any news conference or after a game, there's always a cheesy grin on his face. You ever noticed that? Most of the time Kyle has granite face down to a T. But he can't help smiling when he talks about Brock Purdy.

I've was a fan of Shanny before he got here, and yes I've definitely noticed how much he trust and loves Brock more than his past QBs. Matt Ryan won MVP in 2016 and I still didn't see Kyle consistently praising him every week.

It's ok to compare him to Montana, don't be all scared to have it on record now. Lol

If you're referring to Baldinger comparing Brock's poise to Montana's poise (webzone article), I think Baldy needs to calm down with that. I don't remember Brock in a 'gotta have it' moment like a last minute drive to get into field goal range or needing to score a touchdown to tie/win. That's where Montana's poise showed.

The two QB's certainly share some similar traits but Brock has a long way to go to truly be compared to the great Joe Montana.

What he has similar to Joe right now:

Good field vision. Poise and mobility in and out of the pocket. Making good decisions. Accuracy, but Joe more accurate and catchable passes.

Since Brock is such a student of the game, and grew up a dolphins fan - I wonder if he had asked Griese any questions about his dads run on the dolphins back then. I bet there are some cool stories that Brock could share with his dad.

Yeah, you can tell he is enjoying coaching Brock and the way Brock plays/sees the game. I've been saying it all off season - they're very aligned mentally with how they approach and process the game. They have very good chemistry. It's easy to forgive a player when you understand why they did something, where as with jimmy there was typically no good of an explanation. Lmao

The thing is Trey Lance was the worst QB on the 49ers roster from 2021-23. I think Shanahan realized the early on.

If he was truly the worst in 2022, then saying goodbye to Jimmy while going all in on this worst QB is gross negligence, and I ALWAYS defend Kyle.
I just saw a stat that Purdy hasn't thrown a pick in 7 straight games?! God dang white B! That's impressive. I didn't realize it was that long

Yes, that is where his poise showed. No, Brock hasn't had a last minute drive yet, cause he scores 30 burgers lol. Srsly though, I really think Brock wouldn't have a problem with a last minute drive under pressure. Guess we will find out eventually. Montana was magical with those under 2 min drives to win games..I think it's possible with Brock at some point.

Yup. Only 2 INT's in his first 8 regular season starts.

He kind of had one against the Raiders. It's the Raiders though, and it wasn't the cleanest finish.

I was impressed with that raiders game cause we were behind for most of the first 3 quarters and then came away in the fourth. Then we had to have a drive to seal it. So it isn't a single drive to win it but there was pressure to perform all game and keep the game close, meanwhile the defense couldn't stop anything. So I'm confident in his composure and ability to highly function in high pressure moments.

Yes I was just about to edit my post, like wait! I was at that game haha. Purdy was great and did deliver under pressure to get within fg range at the last min, that pass downfield to BA..the only reason we didn't win on that drive is cause Robbie missed the fg. So, ya, he can deal with pressure just fine

Raiders game last year, brought them back into field goal range to try to avoid going to overtime, not Purdy's fault that Gould missed the game winner. Not saying he should be anointed the new Joe Cool, but he has had a last minute, clutch drive that should've been a game winner, and that it wasn't is not his doing.
