Almost like when a guy is throwing a no hitter, you don't even want to talk about it, lest you put on the jinx
let's take one game at a time and see how long we can ride the wave

49ers fans when refering to other QB's. Awesome throw. That was a dime. That QB is great.

49ers fans when refering to 49ers QB. Slightly under thrown. WR had to slow down for it. Our QB is innaccurate.

Not one person has said he's inaccurate. Just not quite as accurate as last year (regarding ball placement, not completion percentage). He has room to improve while still playing great, not sure why this has so many people upset.

I'm not upset. I have just observed over the years that 49ers fans hold 49ers QB's to a much higher standard than other QB's around the league. I was simply poking fun at it.

I agree with that. But when you have two HOF QB's, one of which is top 2 of all time, expectations are high. For those that say that Purdy is overrated, has a weak arm, is a system QB - all of that is nonsensical hate. But ball placement being a bit off and Purdy appearing a little shaky (at the start of games) is worth discussing in my opinion. Again, if this is as good as he ever gets, and can consistently play at this level - we still have a franchise QB. I just think he can get better, so there is more to see that we haven't seen yet.

Thank you Purdy for maintaining our SB aspirations, and most of all, saving us from the Lance train wreck that was incoming. Things could be completely different right now, if not for Purdy. Kyle and Lynch could be on the hot seat for wasting 3 first rounders on a bust. A veteran Sb caliber team could be going to waste. Possibly imploding a team.

thank you, Purdy!

Yea we are very fortunate having Purdy right now.
Many say how selecting the wrong QB in the 1st round can set you back.

Look at the Jets and the Bears right now.
And I know the Jets don't have the money for another bridge QB, but Not sure about the Bears.

I would counter that with most of the fans on this site probably never watched Montana on a week to week basis including myself as I was born in May of 1985. So it is safe to say that their perspective of what 49ers HOF QB looked like week in and week out is skewed based on only watching a couple of old games and a bunch of highlight videos.

Now, I find nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Does Purdy have room to improve? Absolutely. But we also shouldn't have unrealistic expectations for a QB who has been performing better than any QB we've had since Garcia. Those expectations include believing that he should hit every receiver in stride, in between the numbers everytime. We should look at the film on such passes in question and ask ourselves why he threw it slightly behind or slightly low. Because what I have seen is a lot of those passes that folks like to criticize look like he was either protecting the ball or protecting his receiver.

I brought up a bad example, but his accuracy HAS been off some. I might not bring it up again though. It is already being viewed as hate from quite a bit of posters, and I really dont want to go down that rabbit hole again....especially considering I really like Brock.

But the again, Jaime and Cersei lasted until the second to last episode of the show so maybe that's good.

Lol I get so many compliments on my Niner gear lately. Usually happens during a hot streak lol. But I like to stop and chat football anytime. Even a Cowboys fan stopped me today and said, "Nice shirt, you have a great qb, he can do the job, Dak not so much". Lol. When a qb can bring Niner and Cowboys fans together for a friendly chat...we have found HIM lol

You are exactly right Lol

Like some on here, I am fortunate enough (or lazy enough) to watch Mon/Thur/Sun/Sun night football, switch between boring games, record games, watch highlights etc..

And let me tell you, ALL QB's miss deep/intermediate/short/give me's, etc!!!

correct, it's about frequency
or as Madden says, great players don't always have to be great, they just have to be great when it matters
missing one toward the end of a 'super' important game, for instance, you won't live that one down

It's definitely not hate!
Your posts are always rational.

He has been shaky and off the first three games compared to last year.

I think he's got a lot of pressure he's trying to keep under wraps. The men he's got surrounding him expect to win.

It's absolutely been off. Not a lot, it's subtle. Passes are still complete, just not in stride like last year. I think he'll clean it up. Maybe it's just a "rough stretch" of games for him lol. The fact that we're winning so easily with room for him to improve is pretty damn amazing.

Probably not there because he didn't start that game. Some try to include the NFCCG, which drives me crazy, so let's just say every game he starts and finishes.
