I wonder if Brock had misread the one to Aiyuk. Cards #34 rotated out but Brock threw it to Aiyuk anyway. If #34 hadn't overrun the play he might've contest or pick. Would be interested to see a breakdown of this play.

I thought it was underthrown on the first viewing, but it actually looks to be in the perfect spot based on the coverage.

Under-thrown?
Aiyuk had outstretched arms in front of him. Looked a little overthrown.
Not that I care in the least bit either way.

Mark Sanchez cried that it was underthrown on TV.

I have know idea how that was "underthrown"

What does Mark no?

Yeah I don't think it was either

That's insane. Not only was he accurate, he was pushing the ball downfield. Aiyuk made some really nice plays on the other end of that connection.

How to be a crappy QB. Dude wishes he had 1/10 of the success Brock had. Even his first few seasons when the Jets were winning, he was being carried. Brock is elevating guys around him and this offense to historic heights. It's special and I couldn't be happier to be a fan right now. Just need to keep it up, keep improving, stay disciplined and healthy. Great things will happen.

this kind of complete team play at such a high level will lead to a chip. I'm telling you, us vs the bills baby!

It was thrown away from coverage so only Aiyuk could make a play on it. Perfect ball placement by Purdy.

I agree. I thought it was underthrown live initially because it looked like Aiyuk stopped his route (and the announcer said it was underthrown and they have a better view than the TV copy), but I think he threw it to the perfect spot.

It's so awesome to have a QB who perfectly rides that fine line of being aggressive but responsible. It's a difficult thing to do and he does it at a very high level.
Love that this Iowa Sate forum has a big running Purdy thread

Lol but I agree, Kyle feels way more comfortable with Brock than Jimmy. Because he's just on point and trustworthy. This team is totally LIT

I just don't see it as a play worth critiquing. It's a tough throw and catch, so it's low percentage in general, but it was a good play by the qb and WR. The ball wasn't thrown to a dangerous spot and the WR didn't have to do anything crazy to catch it.

I'll take those kind of plays 11/10 times. Lol just an excellent play by Brock & Aiyuk.

the back shoulder throw on the last drive was a thing of beauty. Brock has seemed to become pretty good at those this season - if he can keep it up, that'll be special because they're essentially unstoppable.

Is saying he threw it to a perfect spot critiquing it?

Thanks for the spank bank material. That's my kinda forum!

it's really cool that Brock has so many Iowa state fans coming to our fan base… really shows the caliber person he is and how respected he was in college. It's rare a qb for a program isn't controversially liked.

between kittle from Iowa and Brock from Iowa state - I wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers weren't the most popular team in Iowa. If they weren't already.

Yeah, I didn't mean the post to come off directed at you. I was just speaking generally, my bad. I've just seen some saying that about the play and I find it odd. There are times where Brock could have better placement for a bigger play, but I don't think that play was one of them - not those kind of chunk plays.

Brock had great ball placement this game. It's amazing how aggressive he is with his decisions yet so accurate.
