Next week if Brock plays well and we win, there better not be a single media person doubting. Tonight showed he can be great. Next week will show if he's elite to the world. It's the prove it week, because that defense is legitimate. As in possibly an All Time one (seriously man... ). If Brock plays well against them? Phone it in.
All time but they lost 28-16 to the cardinals 🧐🧐

Brocks start to his career is already an all time start. Now we just need to see if he can continue it and become a great player. He already has like 3 or 4 jerseys in canton. Lol
I think he's a top 7 QB, at worst, and now we are just seeing if he can continue this level of play to be considered elite.

Yeah he got tunnel vision with Crabs
I liked him on the Wolfpack, got free tickets to games but as a Niner, I liked him for about 5 minutes.

I still need to see him down with 2 min to go and go lights out to win it. Which I am confident he will.
Agreed, before I commit I need to see him engineer a 24 point comeback win vs the NFL's best defense when its a blizzard outside in December.

I don't always agree with decisions made by Kyle and John but I bow to them because they know more about the players and the team than any of us do. They are there 7 days a weeks. Their jobs depend on the decisions they make. Even the Trey Lance fiasco was the right decision at the time. It turned out bd but trying to get a top QB when you have the chance is never a bad idea. For teams like the Niners that chance doesn't come around often. It's unfortunate that the 2 times they had a chance to get a QB early in the draft it wasn't a great year for QBs. When tey drafted Alex Smith he was considered to be better than Rodgers. They were really the only 2 in that class. The class that had Trey in it has faired poorly. Only Lawrence is living up to his expectations. Fields and Wilson are struggling and Jones is just okay.
What?

Yeah, their first year when we desperately needed a QB - they missed hard cause kyle was focused on getting cousins in free agency. They actually tried to trade the top 3 pick AND some (per jay gruden) for cousins but Washington wouldn't listen cause they hate the shanahans.
i think I read something that Kyle didn't really bother even looking at the QBs in the 2017 draft cause he knew the plan was to get cousins. Honestly, cousins is the worst thing that ever happened to the niners and he's never been a niner. Lol such a mediocre player who gets a ton of stats when it matters least - he usually don't do well when the game is within reach and then balls out when they're down a lot. One of the worst kind to have. We are lucky we lucked into Brock.
John Lynch alluded to it in an interview
If you want to blame Kyle instead of Jimmy for something, blame Kyle for passing on Mahomes for Cousins. That was BY FAR his biggest error.
Mahomes was not viewed as some can't miss prospect. He couldn't read defenses coming out of college. His NFL draft grade was 6.3 out of 8 with a comparison of Jay Cutler. So maybe here years later in hindsight you can say it was a miss, but nobody was saying that on draft day.
Who said he couldn't read defenses? Not having practice with NFL schemes isn't the same thing as "can't read defenses." I literally never saw him hesitate in confusion one time in all the film I watched of him. I saw him throw passes the scheme said he shouldn't, but that just means he outplayed the scheme.
EDIT: in fact this is getting so lame I'm going to say this right now:
The things we all like about Brock here on this board? Mahomes REPEATEDLY showed them in college. Over and over again. The quick reaction time. Finding the open guy. Moving in the pocket. Throwing with multiple arm angles. I mean if we're all so sure about Brock, why was Mahomes such a mystery? He wasn't. What he was was a guy with unusual mechanics who played in a spread system. That is IT. The is ALL that made him fall AAAAAAALLLLLL the way to 10TH OVERALL. Tenth. In round one.
Well my guy, you know better than the NFL.com draft scouting report and the nine teams that passed on him. Congrats, you can have a 🍪.

The Ringer's 27th best QB on their "power rankings"
You think he'll hold his 27th ranking? He may slip due to that one incompletion.
Steven Ruiz is at Cohn-level trolling with that s**t.
I mean, outright lies:
"BIGGEST WEAKNESS: POCKET PRESENCE
Some of that creativity comes at a cost. Purdy routinely drops his eyes and misses receivers running open downfield. That's fairly common for shorter quarterbacks."
This isn't even arguable - this has NEVER HAPPENED in any of Brock's NFL games.
Yeah, what a pile of trash. Can't wait to see Purdy jump to 26 this week.

Given the playmakers we have,...that vibe is currently there for a year 2 Cinderella story.
I mean we have a complete team.

The cowboys have had this game circled since it came out/
Purdy will have to have a great day.
Wilks will need to dial it in.
Dak can beat the Niners but that Dallas defense can be a problem.

The cards offense was top 10 in DVOA entering today. So it wasn't a scrub offense for our defense. They struggled some but we still held our ground.we destroyed their defense.
if the cards ran for over 200 yards against the cowboys, hopefully our ground game destroys the cowboys.
it's gonna be fun to see how Brock does against the cowboys since it'll be the second time he plays a team twice. His second game against the Seahawks ended up being historic first a play off game (4, almost 5 touchdowns)

I sure hope so... my teams haven't won a damn think since 1994 and I was 9 years old.
