someone has been reading The Ringer

Oh, he joined The Ringer? No wonder he's hardly in this thread as of late

NY is Steven Ruiz. ahhh it all makes perfect sense now. Ruiz was pushing the same "Shanny cant develop QBs" nonsense using Lance as the example. hahahaha!
Brock signed a 4 year contract.

How Much Does Brock Purdy Earn as a 49er? An In-depth Analysis (coopwb.in)

He was given a pretty solid contract for the last pick of the year. He's been amazing, but he was also given a heck of an opportunity. After this year, he'll have 2 more years. Normally extension talks happen a year before the contract ends as happened with Bosa. I wouldn't mind extending Brock after this year for value...but if he's going to the bank, we should wait a year or two.

If Brock continues to do well, we almost certainly have to give him a new contract when he is eligible, which is at the end of next season. Only a fail franchise would not do the right thing to your franchise QB, especially considering how much he has made thus far.

The Redskins did that to Kirk Cousins, and they are a failed franchise.

If you want to see a noodle arm just watch Mac Jones throws that were picked by the Cowboys yesterday. That is a noodle arm. Brock has a cannon in comparison.

Per the CBA and rookie scale contracts, you cannot negotiate an extension until after the third year of the contract. So Brock is stuck in this contract for this season and next, before anything can happen. After his third year, we can offer him an extension and he can get a fat signing bonus so he gets money up front.

DAL does good, they get a lil full of themselves, they come back to earth and grind, they do good again..

I'm not concerned about it it at all, our franchise has a great track record of paying guys what they deserve and when they deserve it. We've historically done it with one year left on their deal and get it done before the final season of their contract starts - bosa is the lone exception of a holdout but that is a unique situation. Reigning DPOY and generational talent who has played amazing from day one.

idk what Brock will be paid, amongst his peers, but I doubt his family ever needs anything ever again. So far, rightfully so.

Just gonna leave this here. I know we've only played 1/4 of the season, but he is getting better and may very well go up. Sorry, don't think Total QBR measures arm strength.

Total QBR All Time

Manning 2006 - 86.4
Purdy 2023 - 84.5

Holy moly, Batman. Extremely impressive. Still a ton of football left but very good company. Love it

*saving to my spank bank for later, as well.*

If you're not sold on Purdy yet, IDK if you ever will be. I've never seen anyone step in and from his first snaps as a rookie all the way into his next year just straight up ball out like this. What he's doing is unreal to me. Sure, he's got talent around him, but I don't see anyone saying Montana and Young weren't good just because they had Rice, Taylor, Craig, Watters, etc. on O and other ballers on D. You didn't see credit taken away from Brady when he had Gronk and superstar RB Corey Dillon. Mahomes with Hill, Kelce, Hunt. Elway with McCaffrey, Sharpe, Terrell Davis, and Rod Smith (criminally underrated -- had twice the career production of John Taylor).

What else can you ask of Purdy?

He can throw deep -- he improved there.

He can distribute the ball well.

He can make tight window throws.

He is mobile.

He has a quick release.

He is without question a natural born leader of men.

He's as high character and mature as it gets.

He has total understanding and command of the offense.

He can even sneak it better now, another improvement.

This is a franchise QB. PERIOD.

What else can I ask of him? Plz sign my jersey 😆
