I don't understand this line of thinking. Ability to execute = / = level of knowledge.

I promise you JTO is a better QB than Kyle Shanahan, Mike McDaniel, Sean McVay, etc. Those are the greatest designers in the game.

If we ever get the right side of the offensive line fixed, I would love to see Kyle ease up on using CMC and let Purdy cook. I want to see Purdy get 40+ pass attempts in a blowout. His numbers would be goofy if Shanny was more cutthroat, but I get it because he's not going to put our most important player at risk when we have a comfortable lead.

If we had better protection, maybe Shanny would punish these bad defenses more. We score 30+ a game and most times it feels like we could easily be over 40+ if we didn't let up. I want to see the kid put up a big 400+ 4+ TD day. We have the weapons to dominate poor secondaries. Find a weak link and let someone exploit the hell out of it until they adjust and then counter punch them with another superstar. With Purdy's decision making and accuracy, I think he would thrive in a passing offense if we could actually keep him clean.

Honestly I don't believe a lot of the passes to CMC were designed specifically to get him the ball. If you look at Johnny Dels video you'll see that more often than not CMC is read 2 or 3 and maybe even 4 on the progression. Going off memory now so…

Brock was 5 of 5 for 137 with a 118.8 passer rating when throwing the ball 10+ yards yesterday.

He is now 27/34 for 538 yards, 4 TD's, 0 INT's with a 123.3 passer rating for the season when throwing 10+ yards.

If I have to hear Butt Fumble call him a point guard one more time, I may just shoot a hole in my TV.

I mean some point guards are hall of fame legends. Steve Young once said that he finally understood quarterbacking when he realized his job was to get the ball out of his hands and into the hands of his playmakers. So, it's not necessarily an insult. Depends on the context .

Yea. Wtf are these people watching? Brock currently has the 7th highest deep ball completion % and the 4th highest deep ball passer rating in the NFL.

Well there are posters even on this forum who don't consider 20+ yard throws "deep," even though the NFL does. I have yet to hear a definitive answer on what they think is a "deep throw."

Even last year Brock had a higher air yards per attempt than both Jimmy and Mahomes (would have been 14th last year). And this year he's presently 3rd in the NFL (don't even start with who is number one right now... lmao Jimmy G is not having the best year, but he's not dinking and dunking all the time this season).

This probably speaks to how great Purdy has been. He understands the X's and O's and can process in real time to execute. JT on the other hand shows that knowing the X's and O's when it's time to perform is only part of the battle.

I'm not directing this at anyone specific in here (more of general media reaction), but I sometimes believe this guy could go undefeated with a SB win and it would only be used to bolster the arguments against him. Only a massively talented team could do that, it's evidence of great coaching, etc.

They've almost got him trapped in the "analyst" version of Chinese finger cuffs.

Absolutely. And it won't end anytime soon. How many Super Bowls did Brady have to win before people finally started giving him credit? 3? 4?

"Game manager." "Point guard." "System QB."

How many times do I have to listen to this garbage? He's obviously much better than that. Just watch the games.

In my humblest of opinions, only the third is an insult to a QB. The other two, IMHO, don't become insults until you start arguing that's all he is, that he can't make transcendent, game winning plays.

Yea I don't look at it as an insult either. It's precisely the job. Didn't the Sanchize reference John Stockton in his metaphor? That's far from an insult, lol.

A point guards job is to be a playmaker, set up others to have success and get everyone in the correct position.

that's the QBs job, read the defense and get everyone in position to have success and then execute the play. That includes getting the ball to them accurately, on time, and in position for them to make a play.

I'll bet you had a fun job. I'm assuming you also had to take into account the curvature of the earth?

no no no

Nothing like that....

I use to shoot competition 45 acp

The whole key to it was to make as much air pressure in the cartage as possible to get the bullet out with as little recoil as possible. I wanted compressed air more than I wanted a gun powder charge to fire the bullet down range. The farther I had to shoot, the more holdover I needed since it was not a normal round. I had to lighten the springs the whole nine yards to make it viable.

The velocity vs arc was key part of that since I was shooting VERY slow .45acp compared to off the shelf stuff.

In fact....just a bit of trivia....when you see those comp guys go out and look to have super human accuracy....you know.... like 7 shots in a single hole or hit bullseye on every single target...... what happened and what appeared to happen...might be two different things. They are not shooting off the shelf ammo, we all make our own ammo much weaker than what you buy off the shelf. Normally we want a mix of fast burn and slow burn powder to have all the power burn before the bullet exits the barrel. Basically as slow and small as we can make the recoil. .45 can vary a ton, but most rounds are between 800-1000 fps, I was shooting in the 600fps and some are in the 500s. In fact if I was to take an off the shelf round and fire it from my comp gun...the thing would likely break, I know the recoil spring would snap.

My .308 was actually opposite, to stretch it out I needed reliable fps past 600-700 yards.

Well I think I know who I need to hit up when the zombie apocalypse happens.
