A lot of the "hate" comes from how bad Purdy was evaluated during the draft process by "experts" and scouts, giving him credit would come at the cost of everyone admitting they were wrong and don't know what they're talking about

Regarding Ruiz: Some people do not root for the underdog (like Mr. Irrelevant). I believe their psychology is something like: If that underdog makes it good, what excuse do I have for failing in my life? Easier just to hate Mr. Irrelevant.

If the Niners aren't the last team standing, I seriously doubt Brock Purdy will be the reason… but that wouldn't stop this lame douche from feeling validated.

There are videos of Walsh working with Montana and he emphasizes timing in the 3-5-7 step process and wanting Montana to throw the ball in such a way that the receivers can catch it like you are handling it to them. It is all timing and delivering the ball smoothly. Everybody that watched Montana play remembers how smooth Joe looked and how his throws hit people in stride. I don't think Rice ever hit the ground while catching a ball. Taylor was really good at that also. It was all timing and receivers being where they are supposed to be. Good video if you can find it.
