we have AT WORST the second best QB in the NFC and I think at worst a top 7 QB in the nfl... so lucky after years of Jimmy and the Trey debacle.

Mahomes
Purdy
The rest

I'd put josh Allen and a healthy Burrow in there. Outside of that, Idk if there is another QB i'd want. there are some other good ones but brock is the entire package. I feel like guys like Tua and Cousins crumble against physical defenses and arent good when needed most. Brock is the man.
I want NO other qb right now NONE

13 games and he hasn't even played a bad game, lol. His worst game was against Dallas in the playoffs last year and he still threw for 200+ with no turnovers. I suppose you could count getting injured against the Eagles or mop-up duty against the Chiefs but otherwise, no bad game. Even the Rams game everyone was saying was bad because of 2 overthrows he executed three critical TD drives.

Yup. I don't know if there's a metric to measure this, but it has to be the best start to a QBs career.

Agree. This kid is legit.

How the f**k did he last until the 7th... he's got real deal talent. With Brady it was understandable bc it still took him several years to actually look good. Purdy has been doing it since day and looks like a first overall pick. Just insane.

it didn't take Brady years to look good, he won a SB his first year he played,
both guys just needed an opportunity to see the field, that era wasn't as friendly to QB numbers, on a D and Special Teams squad also, while BP is with Shanny

Yes it did. It absolutely did.

He won SB MVP first year he played, he played well enough year 1 of playing to get Bledsoe traded out of town
I'd say that more than qualifies as 'good'

Lol Brady wasn't seen that way for the first couple of years. You're dead wrong.

SB MVP, I mean he won that. Dead wrong about an opinion lol plz.

Depends what you mean by 'good'. If you mean good he was good. If you mean NFL MVP well that's more than good. He was good enough as a rook to make roster BB talks about having to carry 3 QBs and waste essentially a roster spot. Same with Brock.

Carrying 3 QB's then was way more common as the QB wasn't untouchable like it is today

Only comparable start would be Big Bens when he won like 14-15 straight games but he did it much differently. He was just managing the game and not doing much, he had an awesome run game and defense that carried him.

Brock just won his 10th straight regular season game and he's done it while leading the league in QBR and many other stats. really impressive.

Bill carried FOUR QBs in bradys rookie year. brady was the fourth QB, which was a rare thing to see.

Not bad for having a noodle arm.

remember all the noodle arm, struggled against DAL in the playoff takes?

Lol yes. Tonight settles all that.

someone said he gets worse every start lol, that was a good one also

Lol, I forgot about that. Oh the memories

That was 49erRing

Yea, it was. After the Raiders game last year, and it was specifically talking about his QB rating. I'm ok with that comment. I was 85-90% in on Purdy after last year, with some reservations that's he's resolved, and I'm 100% in on him now.

It was a pretty dumb take back then, but who cares, water under the bridge. We got our franchise QB.

I would take Burrow, Mahomes, Herbert, and Allen. That's it.

that's not the debate tho
the post was he wasn't actually good for a few years, he was surely good winning SB MVP to start his career, and went on to NFL MVP level

Those Patriots teams were winning with dominant defense more than anything else. Belichick was shutting down explosive offenses left and right.

You had similar talking points about Brady back then as you hear about Purdy now. "Lots of QBs could get the same results if they had that defense!"

, he was surely good winning SB MVP

He threw for 150 yards . The Patriots defense held the Greatest Show on Turf Rams to 17 points. Overall in 3 playoff games that year Brady had 1 TD and 1 INT. Hence why a lot of Pats fans believed that Bledsoe was more reliable to put up big points if the defense faltered.

If you are a fan of Bill Simmons and his Ewing theory, he labeled Bledsoe a prime candidate before 2001, he was proven totally correct. "Drew Bledsoe: Every Patriots fan is nodding right now." this is another quote from Simmons: "Again, Drew Bledsoe was the first Ewing Theory candidate I mentioned. Deep down, we (and by "we," I mean, "Patriots fans") all knew."

Basically Bill is saying Bledsoe put up stats, he wasn't gonna take the team to the SB title, and Pats fans like Simmons knew it before 2001.. with some guys that just have that 'it' factor like TB and BP.

That's reasonable. However I'd take Brock and his contract over anyone.

Herbert was the one I was forgetting. I'm still skeptical of him. He's obviously really good but he's lost so many games because he couldn't close them out, including that playoff game. I'm not saying it's solely his fault but it concerns me.

Still I think at worst, brock is the 5th best QB in the league.
