If McKivitz and Burford can continue to improve, that will help Brock do more stuff. Right now the 49ers are a left handed running team, but they have begun to get it together on the right side. I saw some good runs from the right side of the line in the latter half of the Dallas game. That will help Brock play fake to the right and go left, if he needs to.

Impressed with Jon Feliciano as left guard, and the interior line did well blocking in the Dallas game. That helps Brock have a clean pocket to throw from. If Brayden Willis can be that 2nd TE to match up with Kittle, or that 2nd offensive weapon as a understudy to Juszczyk, that will help the 4 minute offense and Mason's runs in the 4th quarter in closing out powerful offenses like KC's offense in the playoffs.

Yeah, I think the right side is geling well. Still the weak link but improving. I actually didn't even realize that banks went out until after the game.

I thought mason looked really good. I was impressed with him too. He runs hard and was seeing the holes better than last year.

has Brayden willis got in at all? I don't recall seeing him. I stopped paying attention after dak went out of the game. I know a lot of backups were in. Oren burks is really good too. Our LB core is awesome

I have a suspicion that Brayden is doing well that's why they were able to cut Colletto. I think Brayden's skillset would be perfect for being Juszczyk's understudy as a Fullback/H-back/move TE. Having a three TE offense with Mason back there is a powerful ground attack, but with some good strong passing attack characteristics too - with three good TE's. (Juszczyk is a former TE).

Brady's lol

Heh, I haven't watched too much of Brady to make a judgement. But I watched a TON of Joe Montana.

I can't wait for ShanaLynch to draft two (maybe three) elite Offensive linemen to protect Purdy for the next decade.

Yeah, I'd like to see us draft a tackle in the first two rounds to develop next year, if the right one is available. Maybe use him as a swing tackle for his rookie year (or right tackle if he's better than mckivitz).

the team has actually done an excellent job drafting and developing o line - Mckivitz, burford, banks, Zakelj (hasn't really played yet). Signing a journey man in our center and getting him playing well. It's impressive but I'd like us to get better talent at center and tackle. We have two good young guards but need depth. Maybe some of the guys on the practice squad will pan out.

Lol who is that? I was thinking Austin Butler would be a good pick lol

That's Brock Purdy.
The quarterback's intermediate throws from 10 to 19 yards downfield continue to be his sweet spot. Purdy connected on 5 of 7 intermediate attempts for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Through five games, Purdy is now 27 of 31 (87%!!) for 490 yards, four touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 rating on those passes.

The second-year quarterback also completed both of his deep throws of 20 yards or more for 61 yards and one touchdown. Purdy now has completed five of his last six attempts at that distance since missing three deep passes in Week 2.

Purdy continues to be efficient while under pressure, completing 4 of 7 passes for 88 yards, two touchdowns and a 141.4 rating against the Cowboys.

Finding Trent's replacement should be priority numero uno this offseason

I'm old enough to remember during the off season when he would throw picks in practice and that meant Trey should be given a chance to start. Lol

I'm old enough to remember people pissed Kyle for not giving Trey a "fair chance" to compete for QB1 spot.

I believe they were saying he wasn't given a fair chance to compete for QB2. Understandable if true, given the more expensive contract and fact that Darnold's play style is a lot closer to Purdy's, meaning fewer adjustments in the case of an injury.

But Trey showed he wasn't ready by how he responded to losing the competition. He didn't have the mettle to stick with it, and instead requested an excuse from practice followed by a trade request.

I'm old enough to remember the inability to comprehend nuance and the lack of reading comprehension that has plagued this forum for years. The plot is repeatedly lost here. How many times have I or others had to take someone's hand and patiently explain how a fifty yard bomb is not as easy as a negative one yard bubble screen that goes for fifty yards, nor are the same in terms of QB contribution. Even when I pointed out that Brock was better than some elite guys at completed air yards per pass attempt, I still faced the aftershocks of the obsession with Jimmy which dumbed down comprehension of caveman topics like the simple fact that throwing a ball fifty yards is a bit harder than throwing it five yards parallel to the line.

So yeah. I member.
