It's like Lance you don't cut him the contract is fully gtd, you can bench him

Didn't know that, so yah I'd bench him or try to find a trade partner. Tank as far as you can and draft Bo Nix, Drake Maye or Riley Leonard. Basically just start over, s**t happens.

Orlovsky is a complete and utter tool, Mac Jones wouldn't do the same here that Brock is doing, Mac is horrid IMO, don't get how anyone can say any QB can do what Brock does in our system when Jimmy & Trey failed badly.

Yup, Mac Jones sucks.

And let me be clear on this:

I still much rather the three first rounders for Lance over Mac at 12 or wherever we were originally slotted, Purdy or no Purdy.

Jones is GARBAGE.

NUMBERS DON'T LIE !!

GO NINERS !!

The one thing I'll say and it's not to defend him, although I did at times here, but Jimmy didn't "fail badly".

Did he do some dumb things sometimes? Sure.

Did the offense make things look harder than it should have been when he lead it? Absolutely.

But that said, he was a competent NFL starting QB for us and at times even really good. If he wasn't the Raiders wouldn't have bothered with signing him to that deal.

Nick Mullens and CJ Beathard failed badly in this system, although again both showed flashes. Brian Hoyer failed badly in this system- at least with us. He actually made it work for him in Cleveland.

I don't even know that Lance failed badly. He just got Wally Pipped by Brock. But at least we have the makings of something great in him.

Jimmy's got last year's 6-11 raider team, to .500 last night. Not a bad job for a *supposedly* just another guy kind of QB.

How are they .500 if it's week 5?

First Things First (on FS1, though, I have never watched it anywhere other than on YouTube)

w/ Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wiles. Great show, all of these guys are good and they have great chemistry.

Nick has some outlandish takes every now and then, which feature highly disingenuous arguments, especially about Brock Purdy and Michael Jordan. But he's mostly okay.

Nick Wright is an idiot. A higher profile version of Grant Cohn. He is so far in the bag for the Chiefs that he can't see straight. I don't know how sports shows come up with these guys, Wright, Broussard, Stephen A. Smith, the list goes on and on, a bunch of loudmouths whose only real experience of sports has probably been watching from the stands. I think Orlovsky is kind of a tool as well, but at least he played. But then again, I find the whole sports talk show experience kind of annoying, especially when those guys go up to the "big screen" to illustrate a play. It's like all the producers tell them the same thing. be 'animated, show your enthusiasm". so they end up jumping around like a bunch of clowns yelling at the top of their voices, like Emmanul Acho. "Media", spare me.

Mac has shown to be a poor mans Jimmy G. He's not even in close to the same level as Purdy.

Yup. Orlovsky got some attention from his silly comment. For Orlovsky, mission accomplished. Now he can back pedal to get more clicks.
Do we know if the Ringer has updated for this week?

Back when we had to decide between Joe or Steve, it had crossed my mind wishing we have a guy that has qualities of both guys. It looks like we finally have one in Brock. The calm processing and vision of Joe with the mobility of Steve, mixed in the moxie of Garcia. Altogether we have a guy that can make the right decisions most of the time every game, maximizing Kyle's offense.

Agree 💯%, and I just have to comment on Brock's arm strength. Those three deep throws were on target and were on flat trajectories. I really think folks are underrating Brock's arm strength. He's not even (in my opinion) using 💯% of his arm to get it to (for example) the Aiyuk and Jauan passes. To me, it felt like he was using about 75% and the touch, timing and anticipation did the rest. When throwing those deep passes, he's not taking a pitcher's heave and taking a running start like a javelin throw. He's just easily throwing it with a good solid base and a nice arm throwing motion, and nothing is being stressed to the limit, in my opinion.

One other QB that hasn't thrown interceptions yet this year is CJ Stroud. Guess who is his offensive coordinator? Bobby Slowik, Purdy's old passing coach.

My check on arm strength is when the guy goes on the run and makes the throw, if it gets there timely further downfield, he's all good.

I f**kin love Sherm!!!!

"Oh he has weapons, what successful QB doesn't have weapons"

That's why I hated him so much when he was with Seattle, not just cause of how he played, but because he could always back up what he spoke on and off the field.

Always liked Sherm. Direct and honest. I still have his 49ers jersey.

TBH I didn't care for how whiney he was… but my hate for him was nowhere near my hate for Russell Wilson. Wilson was and still is my least favorite person in NFL history,

I didn't care for Sherman, I loved Marshawn, and hated Wilson.

That whole 2021 draft was
  1. One good starter (Lawrence)
  2. One middling starter (Fields)
  3. Career Backups (Wilson, Trask, Jones, Mills, Lance)

They are 2-3. That's not .500

Jordan Love had a much bigger impact in getting the Raiders the win.
