If BP is the next big thing he will need his adversary.

Brady had his P Manning, and when Manning retired, it was Brady v Mahomes.

we may be entering the Purdy / Hurts era

You haven't heard of Patrick Mahomes? I think Hurts hit his ceiling last year. Numbers are way down this year and I don't see him as a long term great QB. Just my opinion.

Maybe he was joking I don't know.
But from what I read, he never questionned the fact that Purdy was the starter.
His problem was the lack of physical talent that lowered the ceiling of Purdy. Is this a wild take?
I don't think so. At least less that some people that thought that Shanahan could fix Darnold and do a Steve Young remake.
Ultimately, we all say dumb things consistently on this message board.
Just read the first pages of this topic.^^

Yeah, I just think the difference between NY and myself when it comes to evaluating QBs is he places a lot of a players potential on their physical skill set, while I don't. Brocks skill set is more than enough and the rest is mental/work ethic.

i just think it's important for a qb to process the game and have the right instincts. Something I don't think Lance has but only time will tell.

The thing is that it's hard to deny that guys like Mahomes, Josh Allen or Herbert just to name a few have everything you want for the QB position.
Ultimately we can talk about mental process, accuracy, timing, poise all we want, when someone has that and the big arm and the athletiscm it's basically game over.
Like seriously I'm not a big Mahomes fan but jeesus sometimes when you think that in order to win the Superbowl you have to beat this dude + Andy Reid, yeah I'm like give me Mahomes 2.0 with Kyle.
But ultimately you're never gonna find this player. So yeah I agree with you, give me a Joe Burrow. Not the most athletic, not a big arm but he does everything well and his mental process is top notch.
I don't think NY disagrees with this. He probably thinks that it would be better to also have the canon and the super mobility to beat the Mahomes and Allen of this world and soon probably Caleb Williams.
I'm a little bit more romantic. So I like to think that for every John Elway or Dan Marino there's a Joe Montana.

That's comical, if that were even remotely true then Montana would've lost to every QB he ever faced in the Superbowl.

I mentioned him in my post, hard to be adversaries with a guy you see once every 4 seasons, Hurts is a more realistic one for me, do we remember the NFCCG?

Something I noticed about Brock is what he does when he goes back to the bench. It doesn't matter if he just threw a TD or they had to punt. He goes to the bench and sits next to his QB coach and they look at the tablet so they can review what happened. Like I said it doesn't matter whether they scored a TD or punted. He reviews the plays so he can see how they were successful or why they weren't. I seem to recall that Jimmy rarely did that. He usually just went back to the bench and stared out at the field. Brock has the ability to keep absorbing knowledge which will only make him better.

I've noticed that too. He's always studying and adapting - it's awesome. I feel like I saw kap and Jimmy rarely do that. I've always wondered why they didn't. Regardless of if it was successful or not, there are always things to review and improve upon. Things to keep an eye out for or someone else to hit if they call the play again based on the defense.

to be fair, jimmy was actually studying on the bench just like purdy, until he got paid.

Maybe he was looking at photos of hot chicks. If he was studying plays it obviously didn't help him much since he kept making the same mistakes and not seeing the open receivers downfield.

If I had a jawline like his I'd be looking at pictures of myself on the sideline.

Can't wait for Purdy to backhand these fools again on thanksgiving, in their house, for the whole nation to see.

Time for Purdy to eat some Turkey in the middle of the Seattle field after the game.

Brock has too much class for that. Kittle might do it though, to honor the rivalry.

Brock's anticipation throws are crazy good and accurate. Watching some vids on those throws are making me have wood.

These are why he just might be Brady 2.0. Maybe. We'll see. But damn he sure as hell is one of the best QBs.
Brady wasn't doing this, shoot i don't remember brady doing that much anticipation in his career

It was the poise that he had that was his signature early on. I remember seeing their first drive in the Super Bowl, backed up by their own endzone, and they go empty. He nails the pass. That's when I knew he'd be great.

For Brock, it was this play where I thought he might be special:

Same thing: unshakable poise and killer instinct. The Assassin.

Hurts will have a good team around him for a while. Their GM is one of the best in the league. It'll be a fun rivalry but i hope we dominate it like Brady did to manning.

Yeah, I think he did too. He's good but I don't think he's elite and I don't expect him to continue getting much better. He's a good QB but riding the coat tails of a great roster right now. I just think the eagles will continue putting a good team around him. Time will tell.

brock will dominate it because our team is better and I said so.

I still remember watching him that game and I kept saying to myself out loud "what in the world is going on? This guys poise is incredible"

then I was like "let's see how he does next drive" and I just kept sitting there like stunned. Lol I've been brockhard ever since. Lol kids amazing and I've accepted he's a great qb.

we got lucky and got one of the next greats. Strap in boys, it's going to be a great 15 year run!

Can we please stop bringing that dude up? He leads the league in interceptions with 7, is still nothing special and plays on a losing team. We now know why he was successful with the Niners.

Yep, time to move on from the past and just be thankful that Purdy is finally pulling this franchise out of the persistent dark age it has been stuck in for the last 25 years.

2005 was the darkest of the Dark Age!

He looks like the nice clean cut boy next door you don't mind your daughter dating, but will rip your heart out on the football field when the game starts.😎

Yes, sir! I love the way he is humble but the ultimate competitor with unflappable confidence - ideal for a franchise QB. Great teammate too. We are in great hands, gents!

I've never been this excited for the game each week. I just know we are going to watch something awesome every time Brock is out there and potentially set new records. It's so damn exciting

Seattle fans act all smug and high and mighty but they are just as delusional and low iq as dallas fans.
