QB Brock Purdy Thread

Purdy is hitting the deeper routes than just taking the easy short throws. Big difference in why I feel our offense is chumming how its been.

I would too. If we get to play them this year, I feel like we are more than a match for them. They have been looking crappy for too long for it to just be temporary sloppiness. I'm not sure what changed with them, but they don't look as impressive as they have been in the past. Brock has been putting out the best QB play in the league so far, even better than Mahomes. If he keeps the pace up, he will be a serious MVP contender.

He's stayed here in the bay for many years

Brock was making tight window anticipation throws Sunday night. I hope the football world saw how he isn't simply dinking his way down the field and relying on the YAC Bros to do the heavy lifting.
After a couple passes got batted down early, I thought that was going to be the gameplan for DAL. Luckily that didn't hold up, but it could be something to watch for as teams come up with ways to try and slow down Brock.

I feel like a lot of the all pro/pro bowl selections are made from prime time games. Those are the ones that all the coaches and players actually watch. So our team stuntin like that on Sunday night football was huge. Fred is almost guaranteed to get all pro now. Brock should get at least a pro bowl. I'm glad our boys showed out.

what's exciting is the browns like to try and throw deep, so we should be able to rack up sacks against them with our pass rush. I think we dominate the brownies

This game set the record for viewers for SNF, 26 million plus NFL fans saw Brock break it off in Dallas, then sit down on the bench for almost all of the fourth quarter and sip water while our backups held Dallas scoreless for a quarter.

Back when we had to decide between Joe or Steve, it had crossed my mind wishing we have a guy that has qualities of both guys. It looks like we finally have one in Brock. The calm processing and vision of Joe with the mobility of Steve, mixed in the moxie of Garcia. Altogether we have a guy that can make the right decisions most of the time every game, maximizing Kyle's offense.

Agree 💯%, and I just have to comment on Brock's arm strength. Those three deep throws were on target and were on flat trajectories. I really think folks are underrating Brock's arm strength. He's not even (in my opinion) using 💯% of his arm to get it to (for example) the Aiyuk and Jauan passes. To me, it felt like he was using about 75% and the touch, timing and anticipation did the rest. When throwing those deep passes, he's not taking a pitcher's heave and taking a running start like a javelin throw. He's just easily throwing it with a good solid base and a nice arm throwing motion, and nothing is being stressed to the limit, in my opinion.

One other QB that hasn't thrown interceptions yet this year is CJ Stroud. Guess who is his offensive coordinator? Bobby Slowik, Purdy's old passing coach.

My check on arm strength is when the guy goes on the run and makes the throw, if it gets there timely further downfield, he's all good.

Like this

Brock should have waited until he was near the sideline to make that throw, and make Kittle jump high to high point that catch.

"Purdy... looking, looking, throwing in the end zone... Kittle caught it! George Kittle!... It's a madhouse at Levi's!"

what did I miss?

Short arms. Small hands

Regression to the mean. Defenses will figure him out. Low ceiling. As good as he will ever be.

He's still acting stupid. Look at his comments. Why does he do this?

Because you guys all keep responding to him. Dude is cashing in all the rage baiting he's doing.

Manufacturing outrage is the meat and potatoes of social media.

Right now he is getting better. That was a very cool game against Dallas. Not sure how defenses will figure him out.

Aiyuk's learned his lesson. He's catching everything from Brock now. He wants his *the Catch* highlight reel to be legendary when it happens in the super bowl!

Yeah it was one of the highest rated viewership games I've read about. A ton of folks watched Brock just dominate and destroy Dalls. Brock's legend will just continue to grow with every win he gets.
I'm still in disbelief that this is who Lance was supposed to be, but it's not Lance. Last pick of the draft. You can't make this stuff up
