He's getting a TON of great press clippings from the national media. I hope (and I know he will) stay steady and just keep working on his game and his craft and not listen and buy his own press clippings. The whole (in my opinion) national media is giving him a ton of praise. Any other guy, it will go to his head, but Purdy, I think is well grounded to ignore all that praise.

There are still many that are praising him but grudgingly. My guess is if he has one bad game they'll all turn on him. People just don't want to believe that a guy picked that late that every team overlooked could play this well. Some just can't get past his size and speed or not having the howitzer arm. I've heard some that admit that while not having those combine measurables he has all the other traits that make a QB great.

You're pretty close, but I think it'll be two bad games in a row, which most quarterbacks have, and all the crap & I told you so's will come spewing back out of the sewers.
It's fair to say Brock is playing at an elite level...more than fair. The arguments of Shannon Sharpe and above, however, put the added tag on of "TIME". And after playing 9 games in a row without a loss of games he started and finished (excluding NFCCG, of course) , # of games played is fair to add if some wish...okay, i can sorta see how they feel Brock is not elite yet. Sorta...

But it is getting to the point where there are some talking heads out there who seem to be waiting for the wheels to come off...ie can Brock keep this level of play up and going? Man, if any doubters who saw the DAL game didn't see enough, well, umm...okay. But watching Brock put on a clinic every time he hits the field...there comes a point in time when even the doubters are going to have to say...."Jeez, maybe this kid really does have something".

I admit to wondering how long the UCL surgery would take for Brock to be able to figure out how to throw again, which includes adding in receiver leads, blitzing, and all other facets used to analyze QB talent. It was mind blowing to see him start the season off like nothing had happened surgery-wise, but the fact he pulled it off...THAT was elite. Add in his incredible ability to read the field, his confidence in throwing before the WR makes his break, his coolness under pressure, his medium AND long balls...throw in his remarkable accuracy and smarts as to when to throw and when to throw it away...and altho only 9 games(or is it 10) and you got an ELITE.

For those (non 9er)fans who are waiting for the wheels to come off...i think you are in for a long wait...a very L O N G wait. It's time to say it. He is playing elite since the gitgo, his first game in the NFL, his reads are elite, accuracy elite, ability to get-away is elite, leadership is remarkably elite, is cool under fire (blitz)..there's no question...Brock iS elite. He plays like a grizzled old veteran, but the "kid" is only 21. How much more elite do doubters need?
The top of Tier 1.

He's 13 - 0 in games where he didn't tear his elbow. If you include the Miami game last year where he played like more than 3/4 of it when Jimmy G went down. So regular season, playoffs, home, road, last season, this season, everything inclusive. He's 13 - 0 if he didn't tear his elbow. That's almost a season and a pretty good sample size.
noted SD, and make that greater than 10 games and probably 12, maybe 13. And you are right, that is almost a season back when Joe was Qb.

I mean the worst he can do is 13 - 4 at this point. If he lost 4 in a row. Which he won't really do. If he did that everyone would say he's the next big thing at young QB in the league. He will highly likely do better than that obviously. It's just draft status and size holding him back in the minds of some at this point. Not how he plays for sure.

Through the first 17 games was my point.

Yes NC, the top of tier 1. Who is playing better thru 6 games this season? Mahomes has had some tough showings, which leaves Philly...and i don't know or won't know until we play Hurts , who is the better qb. Allen has been both hot...and cold. Taglovalova (i butchered it, but that's fine) ...has been great and then not so. But right now, i think we would beat Philly. That game will determine who is best qb and who goes to SB. . It should be the game of the year.

i think a lot of doubt and doubters has to do with his age...and he looks like about 18, maybe. Until he straps 'em on, he just doesn't look like a killer at qB. But once on the field, he is one smart, tough, tremendous dude.
Can you imagine if like Zach Wilson or Trevor Lawrence started their career out like Brock has!? They'd be crown the greatest thing since sliced bread and the next all time great.

lol I was thinking earlier about how we gave away Lance to a conference rival for peanuts and some think he's still viewed as a real talent - that's like the patriots trading mac jones to the jets for a 6th rounder and BB saying "I think Jones will be a great QB in this league but we are going in a different direction". Lmao f**k off BB, no way he would actually believe that.

I don't really care that Brock isn't getting the national love like he deserves but I prefer him with a chip on his shoulder. I don't want our team getting too much praise unless we win the SB, until then, it's us against the world!

Yeah they would be praising those guys.

the good thing is, tankle, Brock doesn't really care either. For 21, he is miles more mature than some players 5-6 yrs older.

He turns 24 in December. Lol but close enough, your point still stands - he's wise beyond his years.

Until that happens I cant call him elite.

I would argue that he's so good he doesn't put us in those ridiculous situations just as MJ never put his team in a 1-3 hole in an NBA finals series

Not arguing, but the same can be said about MJ not making the playoffs at all some years.

Yeah I think he's 23. But he looks 18. Which is another reason some people don't believe. He just looks so young and he's not a huge guy. But they should watch more so how he plays.
Brock is NOT elite!!!!!!

he is above that. he is god tier.
