Championship teams also lose ugly games.

You can look at any team that won the Super Bowl and find a game they lost that they should have won.

s**t happens, and teams have bad games. It's how you respond to it that matters.

Here's a perfect example

Philly kicked our as 40-8.

We only lost one game the rest of the season.

Not a lot of people willing to remember, Niners were down 0-14 at the Lions the following week with Young being pummeled early.

Brock led a great drive down the field. Unfortunately shanny believed way too much in Moody (a rookie kicker) instead of trusting Brock (elite QB) to get as close as possible for a FG. Thought it was weird to just run Mason then immediately spike instead of going to get more yards (play action would have worked great on 2nd down) .

Brock was feeling it last drive and could have gotten a TD or at least go the ball to inside the 10 where even Moody would struggle to miss from. Hopefully in the future, he keeps the ball in Purdy's hands and goes for the TD instead of a FG. I have no faith in Moody hitting anything outside 35 yards for a game winner especially in the elements.

Please calm down Purdy is by far not an elite QB I am thinking mathematical regression to the mean is coming for him as he is overdue

That was an easy ass kick to make, shoulda been a gimme

I get it. I get that stance, but no. I was shouting to get closer. We had 34 secs with a timeout. At what? The 30. Yes it should be made from there, but that game was different. Get to the 20 or 15. We were capable. I was pissed we settled there. This isn't hindsight either

That's not how regression to the mean works.

The Eagles lost very ugly today to a team they should not have lost to. It happens to everyone. It's 1 game.

ya its on shanahan to call the plays. Running with Mason was not ideal especially with Purdy heating up. Yes it took a while for him to get going but i truly believe if he got 10 more yards moody makes that kick. Just easier mentally to make a 30 yarder than a 40 yarder. Also possibility to get it under 30. Shanny got scared at the end and put way too much faith in Moody.

Hurts lost that game on his own. Terrible pick if they just run the ball and punt (jets had no timeouts), you got zach wilson needing to drive the length of the field to get a TO against your elite defense in less than 1 minute.

Purdy did what he needed to do in that last drive without two of the best weapons in the NFL and hobbled trent williams.

Kyle decided in that moment that he trusted Moody more than Purdy and Mason. Don't worry though, Moody is going to change that.

His playing numbers are not statistically possible to continue at such levels which will show a regression

I mean we all saw the preseason and to his credit Moody had been doing great but we were often up multiple scores and mostly just kicking extra points. This was the first game he was really tested and he failed miserably.

I'd rather die with Purdy than trust Moody again.

Oh, really. How many of them did you make in your kicking career? Since you state your case with so much certainty. I have to assume that you were probably an elite kicker in college and so, can speak from experience. No doubt you would have made the pros if it hadn't been for a poor Wonderlic score.

it was an easy kick for a pro nfl kicker, that "no you" mocking argument is dumb. I was there, while winds were swirling all game - they werent at the kick, he had near perfect conditions at the time. Watching him in warmups he was just off, shanking everything right, Kyle had way too much confidence in him - they should of ran one more play to try and get closer and risk the snap instead.

That's my leader!

Agreed. Shanahan did Brock no favors today and Kittle forgot to show up.

Kitlle was there, but Shanny could NOT come up w/a play for him to energize the offense..

Not Kyle's best game since being hired as head coach ( one of his worse if we're being honest ) but Brock should still be hitting those open receivers. Just a bad day overall for the offense.

Don't forget when Brock hit them, they were getting dropped

yea it was raining a bit, I don't understand why we play so much worse than everyone else in the rain. I have never felt comfortable with bad weather games (bears last year for instance).
