Joe Montana had a way better arm. He could throw bombs, he could throw 20 yard out routes to the sideline on a dime.

He was playing very well until that first bad pick. Just a really poor throw - a better one gives Jennings a chance because it looked like he was breaking open. Very tough pick at that point in the game as they were driving with plenty of time left to take the lead and wind down the clock in the process.

The second pick, you can't throw that there. Just throw that one away and live to play another down.

Agree. It's unlike Brock to force throws. He pressed and gambled and it cost him big time. Hope he learns and gets better. I still have faith in him.

We shouldnt have spiked it and then he could have run for a couple on that play

Arm strength cost him 1 play in today's game IMO. The throw across his body that Aiyuk trapped.

Actually, I dont agree. The vikings knew he couldn't throw downfield near the sidelines because his arm is weak. Therefore, the defenders played zone in the middle of the field and ignored the deep sidelines threats. Outcome = easy interceptions

he's probably second thinking of just running the ball on a few those mishaps at this moment

Same here - he's going to have some tough moments as he continues to develop.

Now, really looking forward to seeing how he responds to the adversity from these past two games and also going against a team playing well like the Bengals.

Except his 1st interception I think we'll see Jennings was open there. The 2nd one was a terrible decision.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Montana was ridiculed throughout his career for his inability to go deep.

MONTANA had better arms.. he was just now asks to throw down field often... but go see his highlights.. he didn't drill the ball because he had soft touch..

That's a 37 yard rainbow outside the numbers. Pinpoint accuracy, which is where he made his hay.

edit: responding to Montana - NY clip above^

Philly example also isn't an example of arm strength.

IDK WTF happened. He had been good almost all game and then in crunch time threw two of the worst passes I've ever seen. And I thought Tua was bad last night.

League finally figured him out. Was bound to happen sooner or later, but after 2 games it's safe to say the blueprint on him is out. There really was a reason he slipped to the 7th round, we just didn't want to believe it because we've been so starved for good QB play.

For real.

league figured out if you can put up 500 yards of offense or have the game come down to a rookie kicker, you've really got Purdy's number

22 points should not be insurmountable.

Yes, thank you. Let's give him a few more games before turning on him. He's shown a lot of good things.

for the DOUBTERS... Joe's arm was not Marino nor Kellys... and it'll never be Elways.. but just to show that his arm's stronger than Brocks... go watch the pass he threw to JR against the Broncos in the Super Bowl repeat year..

Montana's arm is probably still better than Brock's today. It certainly was back in the 80s and 90s.

Good luck to you.
