Well, its true his arm wasnt great. But back in our old days, players were not as fast as they are now. Qb's were able to get away with not having a cannon for an arm. But these days, players are long and extremely fast. You better have a cannon arm if you want to threaten every part of the football field. Otherwise, defenses have a shorter smaller field to defend.

Those two guys were pioneers in an offensive system that devalued arm strength, or at least removed its necessity. Timing based short passing routes… not the classic vertical game.

The big arm guys fail to execute and make bad decisions too. That's what happened to our guy tonight. I wouldn't feel better if he zipped an inaccurate throw with bad timing right to a defender either.

Well it makes it a whole lot harder to be successful if the defense KNOWS u have to pass downfield with time running out. His weaknesses got exposed. You think defenses would play Mahomes that way? I think not.

Think about it.. why were we hearing that Brock was throwing so many more interceptions in training camp? Because our defense KNOWS his limitations and doesnt bother to defend the deep sidelines nor need to defend 40 yards deep. It's only inevitable the rest of the NFL will catch on.

Yea, his arm definitely limited our options on that last drive. We needed to get down to the 20 to even be in his range for a Hail Mary attempt.

WE all can see how limited his arm is... not sure why the HC can't..
glad you had to wait this long to say it.. you must have been really mad during that 5-0 streak

Who cares about 5-0 streak. This franchise is all about super bowls or busts. Back in the old days, we were spoiled by high expectations. I guess the new fans only care about regular season wins against weak teams.
The insufferable fools come out in droves when adversity comes into play. We all knew Purdy would struggle at points, as all QBs do. Stay the course. This kid is still the real deal. Those of you who aren't infants know what I mean.
Pathetic you guys, really. This is on Wilks mostly. Purdy is not allowed to make mistakes I guess? Just lame

Heard the same thing about Jimmy.

None of those teams went undefeated. Some of them were absolutely crushed in games in the regular season. It is week 7.

It's much more on the defense.

Purdy is light years ahead of Jimmy G

So you are saying we will win the superbowl and rebuild our dynasty with a tiny QB with a weak arm?

It's much more on the defense.

They only gave up 22 points despite the offense turning the ball over 3 times. They weren't perfect, but they did enough to win the game if our offense was capable of scoring more than 17 points.
were montana, young, brady, brees, mahomes, allen all 100% successful in crunch time situations?

I hated Jimmy G too for his weak arm but guess what? He never got a chance to play with McCaffrey. Purdy is being carried by mcCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittles, Trent Williams, etc.
I'm not giving up on Purdy ... Hurts literally threw three picks a week ago. Purdy has only three all season.
