Well, its true his arm wasnt great. But back in our old days, players were not as fast as they are now. Qb's were able to get away with not having a cannon for an arm. But these days, players are long and extremely fast. You better have a cannon arm if you want to threaten every part of the football field. Otherwise, defenses have a shorter smaller field to defend.
Those two guys were pioneers in an offensive system that devalued arm strength, or at least removed its necessity. Timing based short passing routes… not the classic vertical game.
The big arm guys fail to execute and make bad decisions too. That's what happened to our guy tonight. I wouldn't feel better if he zipped an inaccurate throw with bad timing right to a defender either.
Well it makes it a whole lot harder to be successful if the defense KNOWS u have to pass downfield with time running out. His weaknesses got exposed. You think defenses would play Mahomes that way? I think not.
Think about it.. why were we hearing that Brock was throwing so many more interceptions in training camp? Because our defense KNOWS his limitations and doesnt bother to defend the deep sidelines nor need to defend 40 yards deep. It's only inevitable the rest of the NFL will catch on.
Yea, his arm definitely limited our options on that last drive. We needed to get down to the 20 to even be in his range for a Hail Mary attempt.
WE all can see how limited his arm is... not sure why the HC can't..
I WAS actually HAPPY.. for about 5 games, he was TRYING to prove me wrong...

He's still a young player. Hopefully he stops panicking. Had tunnel vision on that last drive.
Sure, he's a young QB, but he is still a small QB with a noodle of an arm. Will those attributes improve as he gets older?
Stop with the low information "noodle arm." take.
Why? does it hurt your feelings?
No, but unfortunately we all have to suffer a measure of idiocy

I'm saying his weak arm will not be the reason we win or lose the Super Bowl, just as it wasn't the reason he failed to execute in the clutch tonight.
We're going to have to play better in all phases. As you can see with your vast experience, we got our ass beat in other areas tonight as well. Couldn't the run the ball, couldn't stop their offense consistently.

No they weren't, but what is Purdy's percentage of successful crunch time situations?

Where's Jimmy? Oh yeah in the medical tent again. Who knew.
Brock had two horrible INT at the end but I saw growth from last game. He had a few moments he looked damn good.
The Defense a different story

2-1 in my book.
Raiders last year, Browns last week, and the L tonight.

Hurts is a reigning NFC champion and MVP nominee. Don't compare the two. Hurts does 100 times more for his team.

Sure, teams win championships, but what are the odds when they have to carry the QB? Let alone building our 2nd dynasty?

Same. It was disappointing to see him force it when nobody was open, but it's like his 13th game. I feel like we've been out coached these past two games.

Ppl b***h about Purdy..when there is NO D, Moody missing fgs, Kyle brainfarting..injuries to key players..and this guy is supposed to do it all and win anyway..ok. That's a lot to put on a young qb. There are holes on this team, no doubt Brock knows it..(Wilks) and probably is feeling so much pressure. We need another DC

You don't get it man. Maybe he'll be a SB winning QB, maybe he won't. It won't be his arm strength that determines it.
