You think an increase in velocity helps either one of those passes on those turnovers?

He threw a ball into the middle of the field with a defender right in front of his target. Thats a bad decision.

He threw another pass that missed by yards to an open receiver.

Steve Young was bigger, faster and had a hell of an arm. Wondering if you ever watched him play. His knock was he would fail/choke against the cowboys and packers when it counted..

As I said before, Steve Young's real height is 5'10" and he had literally the weakest arm of any QB to ever start in the NFL.

I don't know why this team's fans are so clueless about the team and players from the 80s and 90s. I understand it with the younger fans, but fans who should know better are clueless, and I don't get why.

young didnt have a weak arm, but neither does brock. they're around the same in that department

Do you think Brock is making the throw you're named after?

it was a 25 yard pass. thats not that far

Shoot there's no guarantee they're gonna win any too.

I love my 49ers and have for 50 years! Nothing changes that no matter what! I stand by Brock he's my QB and we'll win more than we lose with him! Book it! Go 49ers onto the next game! No doom and gloom here, just positive vibes!!

There ya go . Nice on the 50 ..35 yrs here. Will be good times again
Purdy is the least of this team's concerns right about now. Yes he had a few bad picks. But he played decent. Much more concerned with our defense!

to me it starts with the push up front, you can't be 3 yds flat ypc from CMC and 65 team rush yds,
that's an L all day just from those numbers
So easy to defend Purdy. Give the deep sideline all day, he's not making that throw. Just zone up the middle of the field and in two games he's been horrible

The "pUrDy gOt fiGuReD oUT" narrative is weak. Take away the two picks and he's 21/28 with 272 yards. Those picks were atrocious no doubt but those were more on Purdy making ill advised decisions than the Vikings "figuring him out."

I think he needs to slow things down and take what the defense gives him. Honestly maybe take a page out of the Alex Smith book from time to time. Slow, steady, methodical…don't always need to try and throw hero balls.

I'm not worried about Brock. Now if he had two straight games of 15/32 with 140 yards and 2 picks…and was just getting flustered on a consistent basis…I'd be very worried. But that isn't the case.

He suffers from the same thing Jimmy did. Teams know his arm is weak and he can't throw long down the field. So they shorten everything up and sit the middle which is where both his picks came tonight.

The 49ers have been exposed. Play the run, force them to pass, sit the middle, give away the outside passes and carve up their D with your QB chucking it 45-50 times in a game.

Bengals will do the same thing next week.
That throw across his body he short armed to aiyuk was the worst I've ever seen him throw. Aiyuk was only like 8 yards away from him wide open. Brock looked awful tonight

I agree, but he could've made better decisions we all have seen it from him before.

On his first int, he had Juice wide open in the flat. He usually takes that, not sure why he passed on it for the shot to Jennings. There was still a lot of time left on the clock.
End of the day, is he better than JImmy?

That's all that really matters.

We're assuming Kyle can build a strong roster.

No interest on how good Purdy can be on other teams.

Much BETTER than Jimmy. That's not even a debate.

With that said, this game goes 50% on him (the other 50% goes to Wilks). Two chances for a go ahead TD and likely seal the victory and you throw an INT both times. In excusable. Two weeks in a row now that teams have figured him out. Time to get it fixed or Shanny will start giving him the JimmyG treatment eg keep the ball out of his hand…

Disagree with everything in this post except the first two sentences.
