lol, how miserable it must be to have to qualify every good moment with such petty b******t. Glad I don't live in your world.

He's been doing this for years now.

I've been MIA cause I've been so busy with work/business that I've missed the last few games but I'm kinda glad I did because the bits I did see - were disgusting.

glad to see our boy bounce back and the whole team get back to their old ways. I love the gregory & young additions. We def needed it.

The problem with Bwock is that he doesn't have a stwong enough awm.

If Brock had a BIG, STRONG ARM like JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf, he would have fired that throw to Mitchell right through the linebacker's arm for a laser 2 yard pass. But he doesn't have the arm to throw 2 yard passes like that. He also would not have thrown that second pick, because he would have fired it right through that linebacker's hands.

To be a successful QB in the NFL, you need to throw at least 10-12 deep outs per game. The only QBs who have any success these days are doing it Troy Aikman-to-Michael Irvin style. Just 5-7 step drops, set, fire 110 MPH bullets on deep comebacks and outs. That's what Goathomes is doing in Kansas City. Just threading needles into tight windows over and over again and never throwing any interceptions. Andy Reid isn't a genius who schemes guys wide open like Kyle Shanahan. It takes a special kind of QB to have any success with a play caller like Andy Reid, like an A.J. Feely or a Koy Detmer or an Alex Smith or a Michael Vick or a Donovan McNabb or a Matt Moore coming off coaching high school football.

You need a CANNON arm like Steve Young and Joe Montana had. The WCO was all about throwing a combination of 20 yard laser outs and 60 yard bombs on every play.

But Bwock's awm is weak. He is getting intercepted because of his weak awm.

He is holding back this amazeballs defense and supporting cast. Deebo should be running 20 yard deep outs and comebacks all the time, because he reminds me of Isaac Bruce.

Also, Bwock holds back the running game, because teams know he's not going to beat them deep, so they crowd the box and stuff the run. You can't run without a huge threat at QB.

Just ask Adrian Peterson. He had Christian Ponder and his big, stwong awm at QB the year he ran for 2,000 yards. Teams feared Ponder, who was way more talented than either Bwock or Brett Favre or Tom Brady, because he went 12th overall while they went Mr. Irrelevant and 2nd round and 6th round, beating them with the deep ball and his overall greatness throwing the football.

Teams also feared great QBs like Anthony Wright for the Ravens when Jamal Lewis ran for 2,000 yards, and Vince Young for the Titans when Chris Johnson did it. Bwock is nowhere near that class.

Defenses go, "AHHHH! We really want to stop this dominant running back, but if we do, Ponder/Wright/Vince will light up our defense through the air! AHHHH!"

We need Sam Darnold and his BIG, STWONG AWM in the game to prevent interceptions. Darnold was a high draft pick, which means he's way more talented than Purdy or Dan Marino, and he would NEVER throw a pick. He would make every throw and go to the HOF playing for the genius, Kyle Shanahan.

49er fans are so smart! NFL fans are so smart these days!

Actually it's because of late he's thrown astounding interceptions despite being in a scheme that has guys wide open most of the time. This was what Jimmy kept doing too, which is why the last three weeks are disturbing—and of course, it's precisely why Brock still has so many hardcore skeptics: they've seen how much worse Jimmy looked without Kyle calling plays, and are extrapolating that to Brock.

In any event, the fact that you think people are concerned about his arm shows exactly who "smart" 49ers fans are these days. The concern is his risky decisions and weird random drops in accuracy which make no sense. The only game of these three where his arm was a factor was the Browns, and that was only because the weather was trash. As soon as it cleared up, his arm was not the issue, and he threw a deep dime to Aiyuk (which was dropped). No. The issue is the red zone interceptions, and the late game interceptions when the team absolutely NEEDS its QB to step up. That's not related to arm strength.

Having an elite arm allows the QB to be right when he's wrong. But it's not necessary for winning. Ask the Bengals QB who turned out our defense a couple weeks ago.

s**tLOADS of fans are talking about Brock Purdy's supposed lack of arm strength, you disingenuous twit.

There's nothing "astounding" about Brock's interceptions. The red zone pick last week was off a stupid RPO call by Kyle trying to make Brock do something he NEVER does, and Brock missing a read to hand it off (because Kyle is a poor coach who didn't have him prepared for this play) and Brock trying to make something happen via ad-lib. That wasn't a misread on the actual throw. Mitchell was wide open and it was bad luck that the linebacker behind him was able to tip it.

No, this scheme does not get guys "wide open most of the time." That's PFF nonsense from idiots who think that receivers having the illusion of separation against zone coverage (because most of Kyle's route combinations focus on the middle of the field) is "big separation."

Additionally, there was NOBODY OPEN on ANY of Brock's interceptions this year, other than Mitchell in the flat on the redzone pick last week, who is exactly who Brock was trying to go to.

"Random drops in accuracy." If he were as accurate and threw as few picks as the fans on here are suggesting, he'd be the greatest QB of all-time.

The guy is averaging f**king 9.1 yards per pass attempt, which is among the highest figures in NFL history. He's thrown only 5 picks.

You idiots seriously expect Brock to hit 80+% of his throws and throw ZERO interceptions. You think every interception ever is "unacceptable."

Also, since when does Burrow not have a strong arm?

Burrow's arm is so much stronger than Steve Young's was it's a joke.

Your post is of no value. Brock played excellent today and restored faith. But that doesn't mean his three games of weirdly timed interceptions weren't COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER for him, and thus "astounding."

EDIT: Burrow's arm isn't any stronger than Brock's, or if it is, it's not by much. Neither one has a rocket, but both can make every throw.

And Brock did plenty of RPO's in college and they are a staple of our scheme ffs.

The LAST pick of the draft outplayed the NUMBER 1 pick of the draft. Not even close.
Great bounce back game for Purdy.

I hope it's not because he was pressing due to the score. Because we will need him calm and his normal effective self if we're down in a playoff game.

But if he plays like today, we have as good a shot as anyone to win everything. Absolutely outstanding today.

One of those interceptions against the Vikings was inaccurate as hell. That is NOT Brock's normal MO. He's generally pretty accurate and ELITE accurate on medium range passes.

This one, for example.

Also to the ridiculous fan boy NoDerpBallSteveYoung who responded to me, this is an errant throw on a play where the guy was open. Fan boys… smh they live in a fantasy world. (Is this Jimmy's racism cousin who claimed Steve had the weakest arm in NFL history?)

Still the best QB this roster has had since Jeff Garcia. I know it doesn't say much given the daunting eras of Alex Smith and Jimmy Garoppolo, who inspired fear in opposing defenses. But still, glad to have this guy on our roster.

It's not being miserable. He played great today. It's just that the questions about him that came out of the 3 straight losses (5 turnovers when we were trailing by 7 points or less) haven't been answered by 1 dominant win where we were never really challenged.

Give him all the pieces (Trent is back),...and he can "do this."

But take some major pieces away and you're 100% right. There are longterm questions to still be answered.

He's better than Jimmy and Jimmy got us one quarter from a Super Bowl win. As long as the three bad games were just a bad streak and his true self is the top 10 guy he's been, we are set.
