Youtube: Purdy's Better Than Jimmy G. And It's Not Close.

The biggest difference between Jimmy and Brock is that Jimmy could not be aware of the pocket around him AND the receivers downfield simultaneously, and Brock can. Simple as that.

Jimmy was either trying to escape a sack while completely ignoring the receivers, or he was looking at the receivers and then getting suddenly enveloped by the pass rush. Brock keeps his eyes downfield and can feel the pocket while he does it. He has a natural ability to find the escape hatch without thinking much about it, so he is always watching the play develop.

He also anticipates where receivers and defenders are going to be very rapidly. Jimmy always threw behind his WR because he wasn't throwing to where they were going to be, he was throwing to where they were when he released the ball. Notice how Brock always hits guys in stride, while Jimmy's throws were always late, and even wide open guys had to come back to, and wait for the ball to make the catch.

Brock with a 62 Total* QBR for the game. Pretty good with the pick 6.

Geno with the massive 15, lol.

That seems reasonable. Win on the road, but you have a costly turnover.

62nd percentile QB
That TD throw to BA was gutsy as hell
Really impressed with Brock today. Heads up flip to Kittle to save a sack. Command of the offense in Seattle. He's 2-0 in Seattle, and no other recent
Niner QB has more than 1 win. Seattle has very good CBs, which pushed the game plan to CMC and Deebo, but when it counted, he made multiple 3rd down conversions and a 30yd laser TD in tight coverage after throwing a pick-6 and letting them back in the game. FQB stuff.
The future is god damn bright, y'all!

It was a thing of beauty and a joy to behold.

Heat makes sense, humidity plus cold..ya can feel it on an injury..I was guessing it was a heat compress to improve circulation. I am not too worried about it..but idk. If it was for pain because of weather..as soon as ya get some heat on..it can help quite a bit. Not sure if that was it..but that is what came to mind.

So was the ball tipped at LoS on the pick ? Still not sure whether or not that happened.

I had a crap stream....but to me...on that crap stream....it looked like an over throw that CMC got one hand on that tipped it to the defender. Collingsworth said "multiple tips"...but I didn't see that...but again...I could be really wrong on that....

Did you hear what Kyle said? He held his breath. The "correct" read was the check down for 12 yards. He didn't know it was open until after it was complete.

Aiyuk made comments on Armstead's podcast that even clear out routes are possible throws from Purdy.

So Purdy is showing Kyle what his offense is capable of as well. Keep it about Purdy or GTHO.

Reminds me of what Aiyuk said in his recent interview with aemstead, on his podcast. He said with Brock you always have to be ready cause you never know when he is going to throw it to you.

he said that in previous years, there were plays you knew you'd never get it on, but with Brock that's changed. I think that's a good thing - it keeps the guys focused and happy but it also makes it harder for teams to gameplan him because he throws it all over on the same plays.

with jimmy, you kinda know where it was always going to go. I'm not trying to knock or debate jimmy, just saying how I saw it. There was a play where he threw it to Ray Ray at the end, I initially thought he was going to throw it to the shorter route guy but Brock doesn't play that s**t. I love it

Agree. Brock's passing talent is a generational talent. It's going to force Kyle to rethink some of his basic passing assumptions going into the next couple of games and into the playoffs. With CMC, you can have a *run to set up the pass* scheme. With Brock, you can have a *pass to set up the run* scheme. With Both CMC *and* Deebo available, they interchangeable and positionless wide backs. So in games going forward, I can see Kyle flex his scheme to fit the talent of the team they face.

In the Eagle game, I can see more runs to set up the pass. While in the Seattle game, with Seattle's pass defense bad this year, you can have a *Pass to set up the run* approach. The three game losing streak looks like, was caused more by injury to Trent, Deebo, and CMC than to a bad offensive scheme.
