It truly is amazing what he is doing and his critics, some from our fanbase, should enjoy this historic form he is in. Few have accomplished something like this. The closest would be grocery bagger Kurt Warner who was putting fantastic numbers but still fall short of Purdy in all major categories except touchdown passes. Kurt and the greatest show was on crazy levels. I couldn't really hate those teams since we were in the my dark ages then.

we weren't in the dark ages that was prime Jeff Garcia country with prime TO i will fight you on this, joking of course

this Steve Ruiz is at it, again

What'd he say this time? I saw an article from him, but it was mostly nothing but praise and it's nice to see some in the media starting to recognize that this is the greatest collection of offensive weapons ever assembled.
I can't remember if I posted it in here but a ton of people bet Brock to win MVP before the season began at 45-1. Lol it'll be MASSIVE losses for the casinos if he wins it.

Again, my point, how many cheating and code violations that Tom and the Patriots - have *NOT* been caught in? Tom's wins - at whatever level, and throughout his career to me are questionable whereas Joe's wins and losses are more legit. A player willing to go with deflate-gate and film gate violations is a player you really don't know how good he is because of those violations. Again, just my opinion. Everybody has opinions and they all stink.

I was trying to put that aside and focus on the idea that not losing a Super Bowl is better than making it to one.

it's an argument I think is probably more relevant to people being overly upset when we lost the SB to the Ravens for example. 'We lost our perfect record'… while somehow discounting the fact that we had/have an abysmal conference championship record etc. We're 5-52 in Super Bowls ;)

Those stat numbers are unreal.

I feel like his third down stats were a little down earlier in the season too.

Where does he rank on 3rd downs, I do think it's one area we've been average at and not exceptional

he lags behind other great QBs on third down, but that is not real shocking due to the run game

Brock is 42 of 70 for 538 yards, 2 TDs/1 INT

compared to say Mahomes at 65 of 103 for 823 yards, 11 TDs, 3 INTs

Both KC and SF are top 5 in 3rd down conversion rate with the 49ers at 46.88% and KC at 47.02% just about identical.

we are 2.4% away from leading the league in 3rd down percentage..

We had the best conversion percentage at home in the league but Dallas inched infront of us by 0.13% just a tad over one tenth of a percent. What pushes us down in total 3rd percentage is our away games at 42%...we are 9th in the league on the road. Not terrible...but noticeable.

I don't have Brock's home and away numbers....but I bet that is what is giving you the "average" vibe from the offense. We blow folks out the water on the first drive then flounder for a bit, then pick it back up and move the ball. That floundering part is very under whelming and the main reason it does not feel like dynasty level 49ers football.

Special shout out to Mike McGlinchy. He gave up the pressure that forced Jimmy to roll left, bust an ACL, in comes Bosa. Then here McG allowed his guy to bust up Jimmy's ankle, in comes Brock. McG, you the real MVP.

Nah a lot more people bet those other guys to be MVP. Sure a handful of people will win some cash (me included if he wins), but that pales in comparison to the amount of people that picked Hurts, Mahomes, Prescott, etc. Vegas will be fine

Great info thanks! It seems like more often than not when have those "flounder spells" its penalty related or we get behind the sticks deep in our territory.

right but the casinos/sports books lose a fortune.. dude 45-1? it's already been reported that they'd lose their ass. Im not saying MGM is gonna go broke but it'll wipe out a ton of winnings for them.

don't forget that trent baalke signing CJ Beathard is what gave us the pick that we used to draft Purdy with in the first place.

Baalke, Beathard, and McG are the real mvps. when we win the superbowl, send them a ring.

I almost took 40:1 and then 25:1

i don't think Brock will get so I really hope it's Tyrek or CMC

Too many only think about older, slower Brees when back in college and his early days with the Chargers he was a lot more mobile, capable of evading the pass rush, making throws on the run and taking off and running and always happy to take what the defense gave him.

Watching Purdy I see a lot of young Drew Brees and not just because they're both smaller QBs.

I'll give you that,...as I didn't watch very much from Brees as a boilermaker or Charger.

Dude is so fundamentally sound tho that it's like his accuracy (and fundamentals) got better as he aged, and was with NO. Wouldn't say the same for Joe.

It'll be interesting to see if he does continue to clean up his mechanics,...and what that will look like after a couple years.

My buddy was supposed to go to Vegas and we were both going to put $500 on it at those odds. He got sick and ended up not going.

It's brocks to lose. He would have to play very average down the stretch and us lose a few games. There is a very good chance he gets it. the national media is finally warming up to him.
