We are the only team in the NFC with 4 wins against teams above .500.

2 wins against .500 teams too. Only 3 bad team wins so far.

It's all been awesome but we should real it in a bit. Odds are we go to Philly again and odds are they will be a bit stronger. A lot of football left. Stay humble and close the Cry Eagles Cry thread. That game is long in the rear view mirror now. Next up Seattle.

Why are you addressing us as if we play for the 49ers?

WE are all a part of the team. Let's goooooooooooooo

Hey you heard 9erson. We need to calm down and get ready for Seattle. Let's focus on what we need to do to prepare for the Seahawks game.

For example, I need to refill my beer shelf and get more chips and salsa.

Lol. Maybe it's a former player thing? I swear on game days I get all of the same emotions as when I played. OBVIOUSLY it's not the same, but as far as the emotions of the game it's close. Fans just don't have to wake up the next day like they got in a car accident.

Emotions are fine. 9erson was talking about how we can't dwell on the PHI game anymore and need to move on to Seattle. Why can't we as fans enjoy the PHI game some more days? I don't have to gameplan for Seattle.

It's an energy thing. If the fans start celebrating for too long and getting complacent, they carry that to the next game. Maybe don't cheer with as much urgency, which rubs off on the players. Players talk about the energy from the fans all the time, it matters.

I get it this is just a forum and no one on the Niners is reading this. But collectively our fan base absolutely matters and has influence.

So we need to stop enjoying the Eagles game and start thinking about Seattle? I disagree but I won't tell you how to be a fan, you do you. I'm going to continue enjoying the Eagles game and most likely will continue to do so into Thursday. Maybe even Friday.
Juice on the Radio just now said they all have moved on to Seattle... So go ahead and rub it in to some iggle fans a little more

Nick Wright is basically Grant Cohn at this point.

Not even Grant Cohen is this bad.

It feels like Nick has a personnel grudge against Purdy even being discussed as a possible MVP. I don't get why he can't even accept him as someone who has a legitimate shot at getting it.

it's almost like we need Darnold to start, so we can comp the variance between another QB in this O and BP. Or what if you looked at JGs 2022 and extrapolate to get a full season of numbers w/ CMC. Maybe that's what these types are doing?
it's the is it the QB or system debate, and those are the folks on the extreme end of thinking it's the system, Steve Ruiz of course also

Unfortunately, these "system QB" takes are just going to continue for Purdy as long as we have a stacked offense + Kyle Shanahan. For him to get the respect he deserves, it's going to take Brock having success with everyone getting injured--- and NOBODY is wishing for injuries.

Frustrating, because Brock Purdy is operating the Shanahan offense at its highest level since Matt Ryan won the MVP and took the Falcons to the Super Bowl.

We do not need Darnold to start.

Nope nope nope
Going forward Niner fans need to all chant "MVP! MVP! MVP!"

That is fine too because a lot of "system QB's" are winners. Eventually that tag gets drop.

We're trying to keep it fair for the league.

Ok we move from Purdy chants to MVP? But they won't know if we are saying that for BP or CMC. It doesn't matter though haha. Both MVP.

exactly, we got two candidates!
Well if you think about it Purdy had 3 straight bad games, for his standards, and we lose.

When he plays well we win.

So he's probably far more important to us than CMC, who is also in the running for MVP.

I would give it to CMC because Purdy will get his.

It's awesome how quickly fans took to the "purdy" chants - I don't remember that happening for any other qb. They even yelled his name in Philly. Must be so awesome for his family to experience that in a stadium, especially an away stadium.

we should carry him off the field at some point, so the movie version has a lil more spice / drama, like in Rudy

Kyle Brandt on GMFB noted how much fun the players were having during the game. They showed clips of a lot of smiles.

The players put up a good face about this not being a revenge game but it certainly looked like there was more enjoyment out of this than any other game we've seen recently. As one of the memes said, "The 49ers walked into their house, kicked the Eagles off their couch, and sat down."

I don't recall if Tom Brady was ever called a system QB, per se, but I know he got a lot of flack early in his career for similar criticisms to what Brock's getting.
I also don't remember when he shed those criticisms. The 16-0 season when Randy Moss joined the team? Or was it just, in the long run, he just had continuous success despite having different offensive players and coordinators over the years?

All in all, it really is just noise. The only time Purdy and the 49ers organization really need to have the discussion of his value is when Contract Negotiations happen. I think we don't need to have that discussion for another year?
