No way. Not in terms of his actual skill and ability. He was in a better system with an actual run threat though…

oh i thought 48 tds and 5 picks 121 rating is pretty good

guess not

No one said it wasn't "pretty good". Lol of course it's a good season but if you watched Rodgers during his 2011 season - it was insane.

It's amazing, lol. He was still one of the best QB's in the game and was playing extremely well. Just not at that level we saw from 2010-2014 ish.

I became a fan toward the end of Steve's career, so I missed out on live watching the glory years. But... of course like most 49er fans I read, bought copies of games, and obsessed enough to know. So, while I saw some of him live, I've still had way more years of mediocrity and ass at QB. This is a great time.

I was lucky enough to see some of the Montana years. They were indeed glorious. Superbowl XXIV will always be one of my fave childhood memories. I laughed the entire time at Elway. He sucked so bad. I was so excited about the win, that I wrote some silly poem in my journal. I can't remember how it went but I think it some of it went,.."Joe got a TD on every pass, while Denver just sat there and picked their ass. We watched them cry, we watched them groan, they know they got wasted in the Superbowl" lolol .

Joe and BW are totally responsible for me falling in love with football, fast and hard.

Pulitzer Prize winning content, tbh.

I don't know if anyone has talked about this but, as far as MVP goes, how can you not see that Brock should be in the conversation because, based on this game alone, no Brock, a loss. With Brock, a win

He should be in the conversation. The problem is, if Christian, who is averaging about 1.4 TDs per game, continues at that pace, he's gonna hit 24 touchdowns, and that HAS to put him in the MVP conversation too. And when two guys on the same team are in the MVP conversation, it's gonna split the vote between them and some third dude is gonna win it.

how is putting up those numbers in his late 30s not insane?

You know what's funny about all of it. I would argue the mvp is Trent Williams. Because when he was out we couldn't run and the pass pro wasn't nearly as good. If he's not playing we're not the same

Definitely. But one part of that argument is his replacement is substandard.

No doubt. There's so many players / coaches in the league that have him as the best player in the NFL.

I would argue Darnold would bring us back the jimmy g type offense. Good but nothing like what we have now. So could we make the playoffs? Sure. But I don't think Darnold would ever get us a SB.

100% and Kyle anchors the offense around him. (As he should)

I love Brock but I do feel CMC and what he is brought since he came here is not replaceable at this time. Maybe in time that changes but for this season CMC is MVP.

Agreed.

To me Trent is the only player with an argument over Brock, and that's also because it's a thin ass position league wide and we arent an exception in that context roster wise.

Good QB is always going to be a team's MVP. Definitely the offense.

respect that they didn't make excuses - just gave credit where credits was due. That's good journalism. Or whatever the hell it's called thay they do. Commentary? Lol
Homegirl is such a little snack.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. I think she's fine as all hell.

That's Shadys side chick and it's embarrassingly obvious.

Yup. She's always staring a Shady when she speaks looking for approval lol

also, you can tell she never got over the beat down the niners gave her dolphins and the ridicule she had to endure from niner fan base afterwards. Hates the niners lol

Yes. I'd say we could win without cmc although it would be waaaaay harder and the offense certainly not as explosive.
Mitchell is no slouch but he's not durable etc.
I don't comment in this thread much anymore because for me it's settled. We finally found a franchise qb!
That is why you see me in the offensive line thread pleading to invest in the o-line for him.
Probably already posted but worth another post lol
