There has been a lot of talk recently about Brock and the MVP. There are still those that downplay his performances as a system fit. In other words he's just doing what he's told to do and any QB can do that. I started to try and figure out exactly what QB currently playing could fill his spot here and get the same or better results. It's a complex system that Kyle put together and Purdy fits it like a glove. So my question is who would be better behind center than Brock? I can't see another QB stepping in and having the offense get better than it is with Brock running it, can any of you?

Other than Mahomes and Burrow? Nobody

He's certainly on that trajectory. He's better than last year, and he'll be better the next year too.

YPA DVOA
Brock- +3.2 YPA
Dak- +1.3 YPA

People want to argue about YAC% but Brock has more completed air yards per attempt than Dak and is 2nd in the NFL in that category.

Passer Rating DVOA
Brock- +26.1
Dak- +15.9

Brock has had 6 games where he has been +27 in passer rating DVOA. Dak has had 4. They both had 3 games in the negative but Brocks bad games weren't nearly as bad as Dak's. Brock during his 3 poor games he had a -10.8 PR DVOA. Dak during his 3 poor games he had a -20.3 PR DVOA.

We have 5 more games to go but I think Purdy got this one in the bag.

If dak has a big game against Philly this weekend, he might catch become the media darling but it just depends. If he loses, then it's a wrap. Biggest knock on dak is that he only beats up on bad teams and is average or bad against good defenses. I mean the dude was at a loss for words in the thumpin we gave him.

Dak is going to out do 11.6 YPA, 14.8% TD rate and a 148.8 passer rating against PHI? Dak's highest passer rating (142.1) this season was against the worst pass defense (WSH) in the league who has given up an average of a 106.0 passer rating per game. Brock owns 4 passer ratings better than Dak's best this season and he hasn't even had a chance to play them yet.

what the weirdo say?

Minimizing Niners/Brock accomplishments. Yesterday was talking about the Eagles didn't play well because they have played 3 games in 13 days, Brock is being carried by weapons, yada yada

how about the niners playing 4 or 5 teams straight coming off of byes.

didn't we play 3 games in like 12 days coming off bye week? Lol we were on 3rd game in 14 days too

Exactly. Nobody wanted to hear about the niners playing without a QB but now want to talk about schedule. When the niners have been probably screwed more than any other team.

Everything these dudes said. 1

Straight facts. Anytime anyone wants to downplay Brock as an MVP candidate, they need to show them this vid

We may never find out this season.

Lol the funniest part to the whining eagles saying 3 games in 13 days is that they also played 3 games in 27 days in that same stretch.

from Nov 5th to Dec 3, they played three games. Lol

Instead of arguing schedule… pass this along. Big time triggering, lol.

I think the Eagles with Hurts are very similar to the Bills with Josh Allen, in that their offense need Hurts to do his thing like Allen, to be good, because neither guy is a in the pocket, check the coverage, find the answer type. The offense flows through them in run and throw, throw and run. Making plays. It's setup as simple structure around them, and let them make plays. You put someone like Mariota in, it's just simple structure without the play making ability out of the qb position. Not effective. We see as good a defense as the Niners with their best in the league front 7, they still have to be discipline all game to keep guys like Hurts and Allen in check. These guys stress your whole defense.

What I think happening to Hurts and the Eagles is Hurts seems dinged. His escapability is affected and facing a discipline defense, he's holding the ball not finding the answer like a guy in the pocket.

Let's hope not

The age of social media has just made us all so impatient I guess.

Give him 2 more seasons and we can pretty much answer most of the questions that still linger.

The combination of a very strong defense plus Purdy's efficiency makes it unlikely this team is going to be trailing anybody for longer than a possession or two.

As I look at Jonnydel's breakdown of how it all fits together and compare that to other teams I've seen these past two weeks, I just don't see anyone shutting this offense down.

They're really gonna keep repeating the "3 games in 13 days" thing to brainwash people into believing it's a big deal. Every team in the league plays 3 games in 14 days during the regular season. Eagles just had a Monday night game a couple of weeks ago. Boo F'in hoo.

Eagles were at home and got absolutely stomped. Zero turnovers. No blown coverages or easy touchdowns. Their defense sucks and has been terrible all season, just got exposed in the worst way.

SO MANY TEARS

Yup. And some tards are eating it up lol

I agree but you know how the media is - the NFL MVP is determined by 50 Sportwriters. They're finicky and live on the week to week roller coaster. They'll be like "Wow, Dak has responded this year and had a great run - and have taken lead in the division" blah blah blah.

I 100% think brock will end up winning it this year but you never know with all these media folks.

Brock just need one viral play. Something like last year's throw to Aiyuk (except this time catch it lol). He'll be steady the rest of the season and lead in most passing categories. One or two "magical" type plays will create enough emotion to overcome the silly arguments we've been hearing.

I'd say a late 4th quarter comeback but I just don't see this team getting behind like that late in the game again.
brock has this offense on pace to be 8 points shy of breaking the 1994 record set by young and the boys.

it does include an extra game, so I guess it isn't AS impressive, but impressive none the less.

the problem is that the defense is playing lights out. so it'll be super hard for us to be down a lot unless we are sucking ass on O, which wont happen if we are healthy.
