It's not that far fetched. At this point in that season, they were averaging 30.08, which would have been 481 points. But for the remaining four games they averaged 36 points a game (despite scoring 14 in the finale, when the starters only played about a quarter). We are currently averaging 29.3, which would put us at 467 if it were a 16 game schedule (498 if 17). But, let's say we average our normal output the whole way except we score 42 against Washington and Arizona, and 35 against Seattle. Then we hit 530, which averages to 31.15, which is about a quarter of a point less per game than the 1994 49ers.

Lots of teams have scored that much against those guys, so it's not impossible.

Their yards per play allowed is 4.2. That's all time great level. For comparison, we're averaging 4.8, and the 1985 Bears, 2000 Ravens, and 2002 Bucs averaged 4.4, 4.3, and 4.2 respectively. So yikes, that's going to be a tall task.

they changed the voting this year - i think each sportswriter submits their top 5 candidates and they get points depending on where they're ranked on that list.

Yea, not exactly a murderer's row of offenses... especially with the Bengals being a bit of a mess for the bulk of the year. Most impressive win was against Detroit at home, and as good as their offense is, ultimately if you can pressure Goff he's useless.

Yeah, Goff crumbles in those situations. So it'll be a good test to see how good they really are. I think we will beat them convincingly but it's not a cake walk game.

harbaugh is a really good coach. Lamar is always dangerous. That defense seems formidable.
