Brock Purdy had a great game against the Eagles. OK. That was last week. This is a new week. Time to move on. Forget about MVP. Start thinking about Seattle.

I'm enjoying watching the Birth of our new Franchise QB. Soo many years waiting for one makes me soo appreciative that we have finally got it.

I want it all. #1 seed, homefield advantage, league MVP, Super Bowl MVP.

Skimmed through a Kurt Warner breakdown of why Jalen Hurts struggled against the 49ers.
He highlighted a number of plays where Jalen Hurts moved around, had a little bit of time (but was contained), and just didn't see where he had guys open.

I didn't watch it too deeply, but in watching it, I did find myself thinking "Brock Purdy would've made these reads and thrown it."

Just reaffirmed to me that Purdy actually knows how to play the position, and fans/media fall in love too much with QB's running around playing Hero Ball.

Certainly he processes better and throws very accurately.

He's inarguably a better pocket player than Hurts right now. Hurts has the added running element though and thats what makes him a good player at the position.

Yes I agree.

Not to veer too offtopic in the Purdy thread, but out of all the highly mobile QB's... what QB's consistently make it past their 2nd read?
Purdy makes going through progressions so effortless.

If we remember last year, when Brock became the starter, he had some plays where he was making guys missed, going out of the pocket, completing off schedule passes. If he was still doing some of that, the media would be all over him as MVPish. But to his credit, he improved his proficiency in the offense, right read, accurate, on time, in stride, so his receivers can YAC. He doesn't have to do much of those squirrely off schedule plays. Media be like-- meh, system qb. Where's the wow highlights...all we got from this kid is him throwing the ball to his receivers, and they run for a TD Borrrinnng..

He is still doing some of that. Just did it against the Seahawks a couple weeks ago on a pass to Deebo I think. Is he doing it less? Maybe. Or are we all just used to it now?

If he was a top 5 pick, the media would be crowning him Hall of Fame worthy. Even Nick Wright would be on his knees.

You're right. It always goes back to where he was drafted. People can't wrap their minds around the last pick of the draft qb, can be this good, so quickly. Surely he's gonna turn into a pumpkin and proved them right to be skeptical.

If it's any consolation, no one believed in Tom Brady until a few years of domination.

Watched it. Geno Smith would've been better. Don't look like a MVP there.

He's still doing it, but less, with mostly reactions to gettiing quick pressure. It doesn't help that your coach goes to the podium and said that's the wrong decision when he actually made the play for a TD Media be like, wow Brock Purdy!. Kyle, nah that s**t don't fly here. Media, ok let's move on to Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, etc...

Purdy makes going through progressions so effortless.

For a lot of teams, they only have two legitimate options. Kyle offers more options on every play than most teams have in their entire playbook...and Purdy sees them all. That is why the 49ers killed the Eagles - Hurts couldn't find the options and Purdy did.
Most critics of Purdy shown how little they watch football. The biggest one I hear is that he's a checkdown merchant. Which is literally the opposite of his play style. He is a low key gunslinger. I guess when you judge a person on their appearance, you just assume they play like a Kirk Cousins. I hope they keep the same energy when he gets this team a ring. The more they hate, the more it fuels Brock.
