He won't be at the Pro Bowl anyway while preparing for the Super Bowl. That's why they need so many alternates.

This is saying Brock is amazing when our offensive plays are covered perfectly, right?

He's top 10 when the play is perfectly covered.

We face this situation less than any other team.

So when he does face it, he does very well. Fortunately, we don't face that a lot because we have great coaching and talent. Lol I'm not holding that against Brock.

"He isn't elite because his offense is innovative and his guys get open! I want to see him play great when his guys are perfectly covered every play!" Lol Brock's the man, I can't wait to see him win the real MVP, the super bowl one 😈
Does he get a bonus for making the Probowl in his 7th round contract lol

Wonder how much pocket change that would be...

The "he's throwing to completely wide open receivers" criticism/complaint is so ridiculous. If you go back and watch the All-22, those receivers are open because of Purdy throwing it early, throwing it anticipation, getting the ball to the receiver at the right spot where they have a step on the defense and can just grab it and go. Put a QB that is less gifted in the same spot and suddenly those receivers don't look so open anymore because the ball is arriving late and the defense has caught up and now have an opportunity to make a play on the ball. This is why #1 complaint with Alex Smith, Kaepernick and even Garoppolo who despite his quick release also had a tendency to hold on to the football too long at times.

Watching this offense is like watching those Manning Colts offenses back in the day. Yeah he had great weapons like Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and others but that offense worked as well as it did because the ball was coming out earlier and those receivers looked open as hell constantly because of it. Not that those guys couldn't fight for contested passes but when the quarterback is delivering it early, not only are you in a better position to catch it, you're in a better position to get upfield and start picking up yards after the catch.

Tom Moore was the OC for those Colts teams for a long time and he always used the example of "if we're both going to the airport and you think you know where the airport is and I know exactly where the airport is, which one of us gets there faster?" when discussing the advantage the offense has over the defense. With Manning at QB, the Colts had a skilled professional driver getting them to the airport. Not that I'm saying that Purdy=Manning or whatever other hyperbole but he has a similar quality of anticipation and being able to get the ball out and trust the receiver to be where they are supposed to be rather than needing to visually confirm them first breaking open.

Its not a gimmick, its not luck, its not just a matter of having high end talent, its QB's that are elite in processing and anticipation putting their playmakers in the best possible position to go out and make plays.
This young man makes you sit back and enjoy watching football. I don't think I have had my jaw drop on so many occasions with his play. It is beautiful to watch. We are spoilt as fans.
Just when you think "gee I would love to see Deebo back doing what he can and Kittle etc......" And then BP throws them a dime. Just spine tingling.
I keep thinking Walsh would love Brock. Timing and accuracy, the two things Walsh demand of his qb, so his receivers can get YAC. His whole footwork drop back routine is so his qb has the timing line up with his receivers routes. Walsh said that he didn't like shotgun because it left too much to the qb to determine the timing of the throw, Walsh just didn't trust that it would be done consistently enough with the qb. But as I see Brock play under center or shotgun, he has incredible consistent timing, anticipation, and accuracy on his throws. Walsh would be gitty with Brock. might even change the old genius mind on putting in shotguns

While that's all true, there is more to it than Acho is implying, because we are averaging the same YAC per completion this year as we averaged last year (6.6 yards per completion), which is also the same YAC per completion as we averaged in 2021 and 2019 and less than we averaged in 2018. We've always been near the top in YAC every season under Kyle.

The other side of the equation is Brock is 2nd in the league in completed air yards per completion at 7.0.
